Alfa Romeo takes victory in the Rally of The Tests 8 Nov 2013 (News)
Paul Wignall and Mark Appleton claimed the first place of the Rally of the Tests in an 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint after taking over the lead in the final section from Jan Ebus and Iain Tullie’s 1964 Porsche 356. The event, which is organised by the Classic Rally Association (CRA), was the final round of the FIA Trophy for Historic Regularity Rallies and the fifth qualifying round of the HERO Cup, in association with EFG International. -

Having completed the long test-section with a blistering pace, the British pair chalked up a three minute lead over their rivals, fellow Brits Phil Garratt and Kieron Brown in their red 1937 Chevy Fangio Coupe, and Denmark’s Lars and Annette Rolner, in the 1928 Bentley four-and-a-half. The trio battled it out over a vast undulating plain of sandy, dusty, gritty, gravel tracks for the second event with the growling Ford V8 keeping its lead and ending with the second placed Chevy breathing down its neck. -
Dramatic finish for inaugural Blue Train Challenge 28 Sep 2017 (News)
The inaugural Blue Train Challenge reached a dramatic conclusion in Cannes. The Cadillac that had been leading from the start of the five-day rally suffered a failed wheel bearing and had to retire. Leaving Richard and Tom Jeffcoate to take the win in the 1938 Riley 16/4 Special. Inspired by the legendary run by the Bentley of Wolf Barnato from Cannes to London in March 1930, the Blue Train Challenge set off from Deauville with James Gately and Tony Brooks driving into the lead in their 1937 Cadillac Convertible. As the event (organised by the Endurance Rally Association) journeyed 1690kms through Fountevraud, Vichy, Lyon, and L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, with crews and cars competing in a series of regularity sections, special tests, and time controls, Gately and Brooks kept the rest of the field at arm’s length until mechanical failure hit at the final regularity just before the finish line. -

CAP Predicts Class Leading Residual Values for New Mazda 6 9 Nov 2012 (News)
Mazda forecasts that its biggest fleet seller in the range will be the 2.2-litre 150ps SKYACTIV-D Saloon SE-L Nav with a P11D value of £23,140, CO 2 emissions at a class-leading 108g/km and combined cycle fuel economy of 67.3mpg. CAP predicts that the model will have a three-year/60,000-mile residual value of £7,475 (32 percent). CAP analysis reveals that over three-years/60,000 miles the anticipated best-selling model in the new Mazda6 range will depreciate by £15,665 which means it is a better choice for fleet operators than rivals such as the BMW 320d, Audi A4, Toyota Avensis, Honda Accord and Vauxhall Insignia (see chart below). -
