Should you fit winter tyres? 29 Sep 2011 (News)

Future Classic Friday: Rover 45 16 Feb 2018 (News)
It was stuck for now at least, with the Honda architecture, but it had developed its own range of CVT transmissions in conjunction with German gearbox specialist ZF, along with new derivatives of the K-series engine such as the small capacity 2.0-litre KV6, used to great acclaim in the Rover 75. It should be remembered, too, that the Rover 45’s five-year production run was twice as long as it should have been. The car was essentially a stop gap, to modernise the range and keep retail and fleet sales stable while a smaller car was derived from the much-lauded Rover 75 platform, but when BMW withdrew itself from Rover Group shortly after the 45’s launch, the development funds weren’t there to take it any further. -
Happy Birthday: Jaguar XJ40 7 Oct 2016 (News)
XJ40 production continued unabashed until late 1994, with the last of the line Gold and Sport models being among the most revered among enthusiasts for their vastly improved cabin materials and build quality, a precursor to what was to come from the X300; itself a heavily facelifted rather than entirely new design, and one that would outsell the XJ40 by some margin despite a much shorter production run, thanks to fleet-targeted marketing and more sensible pricing. A total of 208,733 XJ40s were produced over the eight years it was on sale, and while it was never regarded as a huge success at the time, the model now has a fiercely loyal following among certain sectors of the Jaguar community. -
