      Non sellers included a recreated Speed Six Bentley built for the 2007 Peking to Paris run that bid to £160,000. A 2005 Mercedes CLK DTM estimated at £165,000 to £205,000 that bid to just £120,000, a 1968 Ford Escort Mk I AVO rally car estimated at £35,000 to £48,000 that bid to £30,000 and a 1966 Lotus Cortina estimated at £25,000 to £32,000 that bid to £23,000.

  • Stunning Porsche Turbo in BCA Classics Auction 21 Nov 2008 (News)
    The Jaguar E-Type was built in the mid-1970s for the Modsports race series of the time and is based on a 1961 flat floor coupé. Reportedly one of the quickest E-Type racers running in its day, it also took part in the Brighton Speed Trials in 1977 and 1978 and was last raced in the late 1970s before being placed in storage. The car was to sustain damage to its paintwork during the hurricane of 1987 when the roof was blown off the building it was stored in, and consequently the car is offered requiring some refurbishment and restoration.

    Department for Transport figures show that every year more than half of all new vehicles registered in Britain are company cars and Nigel Underdown, head of transport advice at the Energy Saving Trust, is calling on organisations across Britain to act now and "green" their company car fleets. He said: "The reasons are there for all to see: running vehicles costs a lot of money and with fuel prices over £1 a litre it's not going to get cheaper any time soon. In addition, companies in the business-to-business sector won't get far when tendering for big contracts unless they can prove their environmental credentials.

A silver 90k mile 98S Mk IV 1.6SE sold for £4,600. A 102k mile K reg Mk III 1.4CL 5-dr bid to just £350.

    Unfortunately Car 86 was involved in a race incident that required considerable effort by the team to rebuild the front end and get the car back into the race.  A clean run to the finish ensured that the MX-5 Forces Car finished 24 th overall and 10 th in class having completed 471 laps.  "The race was incident packed but our two production cars managed to avoid any serious damage," commented Graeme Fudge, PR director, Mazda UK.
