BMW 3 Series Touring - BMW 335d vs 320d 23 Jan 2019 (Forum)
The reason I'm hesitating is the 'nickability' of the 335 and whether I'm being over cautious in that regard. My car is left in a secure car park during the day and in a locked garage behind locked gates at night when I am home so it's as secure as it can possibly be I guess. Am I being too paranoid? They're both nice cars. -
Ford Focus TDCi - Ford Focus 2010 TDCi 1.6l Turbo Issues 3 Sep 2018 (Forum)
but still can't find the problem! All connectors are fine, changed Egr valve, checked turbo fine, cleaned waste gate, they've even been in touch with Ford Dealer and they say to check all that he's done..... question is do i try a new turbo? the car has done 63k miles so pretty good for a 5 year old diesel (or so i'm told) any advise on the problem would be much appreciated. -
Honda CR-V - How strong is the boot shelf in a 3rd gen CR-V 27 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Our dog is almost certainly capable of jumping up that high, by the way, she was easily clearing our stair gate at 5 months old. It seems the simplest solution, rather than getting a roof box (for the luggage). Many appreciations. -
28 Dec 2016 (Forum)
The owner of the Hilux Surf, take heart, assuming you have the 3.0 Diesel engine the cambelt is one of the easiest and quickest to change you can find (all cambelt designs should be like this), any competent garage can do this for you in around an hour at the most, a good quality, eg Gates, belt kit comprising belt, idler pulley, plus new automatic tensioner will be around £80 the lot, so the whole job should be under £150 all in. Get that chassis steam cleaned in the spring then coated in something like Bilt Hambers underbody waxes and you will still be driving that old beastie round in 20 years when almost all cars made today will be heading back hence they came in cube form, you will struggle to find an ecu anywhere on it and they were built to last and made to be serviced easily and worked on, so easy to keep them running. -
Vauxhal Vectra C - Brake Light Warning 17 Jul 2011 (Forum)
Hi I've a Vectra C Estate CDTi SRI 150 (2008/58) I've just got a brake light warning come on and found out which light it was, yes one of the hardest to get too! In the tail gate. Well got to it and found the bulb intact. Checked it with a voltmeter nothing wrong. Put a new (correct type) spare bulb in and same problem. Tried another bulb, even switched one of the other bulbs that were working still no joy. -

Volkswagen Passat (1988 - 1997) - 1997 'R' 1.9tdi 115BHP boost issue 30 Dec 2007 (Forum)
The current issue: The car starts fine and runs okay.........but it appears to have little to no 'boost', further more, when the car hits about 3000rpm you here a click and she drops into limp home mode (max speed 45/50 mph) The garage had replaced the N75 valve, I'm going to check it is piped up correctly for him first, but I'm not too sure that is the issue..........does anyone have any thoughts...the garage seems to think the waste gate is stuck....hummmmmmm Regards Hayden Murray -
Bed of nails 23 Sep 2007 (Forum)
On my way to work I drive past a house on a country lane that has a short piece of driveway before a gate which then leads up to the house. On this small piece of driveway they have what appears to be a piece of plywood about 6 foot square and full of what looks like 6 inch nails. I assume that they have put this there to stop yobs parking on their driveway at night. -
Ulysse Door ajar indicator 9 Feb 2007 (Forum)
The sliding doors appear to have 2 of these sprung switches and a pair of contact plates on each door which I am unsure what they do and I have been told that the switch for these doors to show closed is a small microswitch actually at the catch plate on the main body of the vehicle. Then I come to the tail gate which I am having trouble opening as the central locking doesn't want to open it and the previous owner had lost the key? . ? ! Mark ps it is a 1998 'S reg ', 1.9TDS -

ChipsAway etc in Woking area 13 May 2008 (Forum)
They actually call themselves WagenKraft Ltd and are part of ChipsAway franchise network. I was unfortunate to scratch my car with a gate post at a friend's car park yesterday. It just was too low, so couldn't see it neither through mirrors nor through the back until it was too late. It left a medium sized dent and a few scratches in the fuel filler cap area (just above the bumper). -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 97 1.9 td - cam belt changing 19 Apr 2008 (Forum)
hi all new to the forum, my question is as above really. i have just bought a gates cam belt kit which has a cam belt, tensioner plus another roller. i have also bought a new auxillary belt. the car is a 306 1997 (face lift) d turbo 1.9 right im going to do this myself and have not changed a belt on one of these cars before so i thought i'd ask on here before i try if there is any specail tools i need, or if there is any info i might need while doing the belt (left hand threads, things that are a pain). -

Jaguar XK - Cranks but won't start after a stormy night 23 Feb 2020 (Forum)
This 2009 car was running smoothly with no issues. It was a very strong wind here last week, a storm. So at night I moved the car from the gates reversing slightly up the hill and parking sideways. Was a quick move, didn't let the engine run properly. Next morning it cranks but won't start. Recharged the battery as the first suspect - no luck. -
N/A - School Run Traffic 15 Oct 2015 (Forum)
Besides the volume of traffic a lot of the issues seemed to be caused by totally inconsiderate parents ignoring the rules of the road - often parking in dangerous positions. And why do strapping sixth formers have to be dropped at the school gate - I used a sports moped (Honda SS50) paid for by a weekend job). I was wondering if there were any figures for the increase in traffic during the school run times? -
KIA Sedona - KIA Sedona 2005 2.9 CRDI Cambelt whine 5 Dec 2014 (Forum)
I tensioned it correctly, lining up the pointer in between the two marks on the back plate. I have changed quite a few cambelts, mainly gates and dayco but never used INA before. Is it due to the quality / what the belt is made of? Should it settle down with use? Its only done about 50 miles on it so far. Starts perfectly, runs well, just get the whine when its warm.
