KIA Sedona - KIA Sedona 2005 2.9 CRDI Cambelt whine - ScoBro

Hi,

I bought a Sedona as a project car, a 2005 with damage to the door and wing. Door and wing replaced and thought I will do the cambelt as it's never been done over the 80k.

I successfully changed it, quite tricky being a twin cam. I fitted a INA kit from Eurocarparts which came with all the rollers, tensioner and belt.

When it gets warm I notice a slight whine at around 2000 rpm. I tensioned it correctly, lining up the pointer in between the two marks on the back plate.

I have changed quite a few cambelts, mainly gates and dayco but never used INA before. Is it due to the quality / what the belt is made of? Should it settle down with use? Its only done about 50 miles on it so far.

Starts perfectly, runs well, just get the whine when its warm.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

My only experience of this happening was on an XUD engine and it was because the belt was to tight.
