    French automobile manufacturer Citroen has recorded an increased number of sales over the course of 2007. There was a 3.8 per cent rise in growth during the year as some 3.23 million vehicles were sold. One popular model was the C4 Picasso, which sold 200,000 models, while the Xsara Picasso saw a 55.1 per cent hike.

    Even a standard Citroen Deux Chevaux is capable of crossing reasonably rough terrain thanks to its front-drive layout, large wheels and generous ground clearance. But Citroen reckoned a four-wheel drive version was a good idea, the end result being the 2CV Sahara of 1961 – which, instead of using a conventional all-wheel drive set-up, was fitted with an extra engine in the boot to ensure all-round traction.
