New Citroen may make a splash among cash-strapped drivers

Mon, 19 Jan 2009
People looking at buying a car that can help them cut costs may want to pay a visit to their local Citroen dealership.

The manufacturer has claimed its new special edition C1 Splash may be able to help drivers reduce their motoring expenditure in a number of areas.

It described the model as "the ideal city car to cruise through the credit crunch".

The group pointed out the vehicle falls into the cheapest insurance category and is eligible for low cost road tax as it boasts CO2 emissions of 106 g/km.

In addition to this, Citroen suggested motorists may find the car helps them save money at the pump with fuel economy of 62. 8 mpg.

With electric front windows, air conditioning and remote central locking, the car costs from £7,345.

It is available in two colours - Lipizian White and Electra Blue - and buyers can opt for either a three or five-door version.

In other motoring news, Citroen recently announced its new Airdream+ versions of the C3 and C4 were the cleanest ever editions of the models.
