The truncated chassis and low roofline meant that the Range Rover Sport was never more than a five-seater, though this was deliberate - it was priced at a very similar level to the Discovery, but was aimed at a different type of buyer. -

Gurney was also no stranger to Hollywood, having been a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild since 1965, and appeared in motor racing-based films such as Winning, A Man and a Woman, and Grand Prix. Just as impressively, it was Gurney’s win of the Cannonball Run across the USA in 1971 that inspired his friend and co-driver, Brock Yates, to write the screenplay for the Cannonball movies. Dan’s first foray into the world of amateur motorsport occurred when he bought a Triumph TR2 and took to the tracks, proving himself to be highly capable behind the wheel. -
Future Classic Friday: BMW MINI 24 Feb 2017 (News)
. Some of the tears were because a British icon had finally died after an astonishing 41-year production run, but many were in anger at the divorce between the newly formed MG Rover Group and its former parent, BMW. During the dissolution of the former Rover Group, BMW had allegedly cherry-picked the best bits, taking Land Rover technology to help develop its own range of premium 4x4s before selling it on to Ford, then keeping the iconic Mini brand for itself, leaving MG Rover pretty much high and dry, with just the 25, 45 and 75 models to help keep it afloat - a move that left fans of the British marque foaming at the mouth. -

The 1967 250SL was offered for auction in need of total restoration, although its long period of barn storage had been kind to it and it remained very sound throughout. Coming to auction from a deceased’s estate, the car was non-running and the keys had long-since been lost. Finished in Old English White following a bare metal respray, the interior and hood had been fabricated from the original patterns and the car was described as nbeing mechanically faultless. Of the 100 originally built, around 25 survive with fewer than ten in full running order – arguably this is the finest example of the model you could find anywhere. This rare car seemed good value, selling for £13,000. Should I consider replacing the car? Apart from the turbos, the car has been reliable and inexpensive to run for a large vehicle.
