• Citroen Synergie (1995 - 2002) - 01 2.0 Remote key fob not working 9 Nov 2009 (Forum)
  Our car had a new key with integrated (2 button) fob provided and coded by a Citroen dealer approx 18 months ago as the original was lost. The fob has recently stopped working and I fear I may have dropped a clanger by taking the battery out of the fob overnight to take with me as a sample for a replacement - hence possibly having lost the coding as the fob will not work with the new battery in?.

  I've cleaned out the fuel filter housing and replaced the fuel filter - I don't think fuel supply to the pump is a problem. I've taken it in for a diagnostic check at the local Citroen dealer and no fault was apparent. The mechanic suggested that the problem could be a solenoid on the diesel pump that communicates with the ECU. Has anyone else experienced this problem? How did you manage to resolve it?

  Can anyone help please ? My citroen c5 2.2 hdi had the head gasket & timing belt changed - i understand this is all ok Then the turbo went and that was replaced too, i'm informed this is functioning OK The garage that presently has the car has fitted the turbo but the car still drives like a three legged dog, no grunt no power, and the owner tells me that there are various connectors and hoses that he has no idea where they should connect !

  My Citroen Saxo VTR starts immediately and drive well for some miles - 4/5 - then suddenly the engines dies as if the ignition had been turned off. After a few minutes it can sometimes be restarted and performs as well as ever.

  2 months ago, I brought a 1997 Citroen ZX "Leader" 1.9 straight diesel. Whilst this car was fitted with the immobiliser keypad, this did not work - i was told it had been "de-activated" I have been driving the car around without problem, putting about 3K miles on it already.

  I have been having endless problems since the time of purchase. I love the car, however the problem is not so much as the car compared to the regional Citroen and their agents. 2 years ago i had major repairs on the car - Oil back harness, P/steering pipe, Gearbox renew, p/steering reservoir hose replaced. Now after 2 years i have to do the whole thing again. 1st repair cost RM 17,800.00 and now another RM 9664.00.

  Hi Have recently bought a 1995 1.9D Avantage ZX non-Turbo have had a few Citroens but never one of these. The car did not come with the owners handbook. I was going to do an oil & filter change and was wondering if the engine & gearbox oil were combined ? If their not is it easy enough to drain the gearbox oil and refill it ?

  Our Citroen Berlingo Multispace has recently developed what I would describe as a "scrunching noise". It seems to come from the rear of the car on the passenger (left) side. It only occurs when going over dips / undulations at speed, and when sometimes when turning - particularly when turning right.

  hi,i have just bought a 1998 s plate 1.8 xantia but unfortunately it came without an owners manual,so i am looking for some advice from anybody in the know.I have checked the suspension using the lever at the gear stick and the car goes through the full range of movement.However when looking under the bonnet i cannot see any where obvious to check the hydraulic fluid and like i said i have no owners manual.I have noticed in the top right corner a square holder with a small clear dome with 2 rings around the dome and a small needle with a red cap inside and i was wondering also what that is.First time with a citroen so not clued up on them but so far seems very comfortable and economical.So until i get a haynes manual anybody give me some pointers.Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

  Ordered a new Citroen C4 via one of the brokers mentioned by HJ. The car was delivered by Citroen to a Citroen dealer on Wednesday 23rd. The car is prepped by the dealer and should be delivered to my home. However, the dealer has told the broker that they can't issue a registration number until Thursday or Friday next week.

  In April I took delivery of a brand new Citroen C3 XTR 1.4 diesel and almost immediately encountered a problem with it. I live in a valley and the main roads I use involve having to go up and over a couple of steep inclines. Going up these hills it got to the point in forth or fifth gear that the engine started to labour a little (but not to the point where I needed to drop down a gear) and when it did there was a momentary drop in power and the engine warning light and alarm came on.

  Hi all, I have a citroen ax 1992 and have been experiencing a problem for a few weeks now. It all started when my car wouldn't start, had the rac to look at it and they advised me the alternator has gotten wet in a storm and had failed but checked alternator jump started me and said it was now fine....Took the car for a drive came home half an hour later and wouldn't start again.

  I have a problem with my 94 citroen zx td when starting from cold. The engine cranks for about 10-15 seconds before catching. After this it starts fine all day. This problem has started to occurr after I had the head rebuilt and replaced after a cambelt snap.

  I've had a problem with my Citroen ZX 1.6i (Jreg, 1991) Since I bought it 6 months ago, and it's slowly getting worse. The specifics of the problem have baffled everyone I know. Mechanics say I should get a full service first. (Damn money chasers!)

  Our second car is an M-reg Citroen ZX diesel, which has done just over 100,000 miles and has been very reliable. We have owned it from new and now do about 6,000 miles a year in it, mostly in short journeys. Just back from a two week summer holiday and it won't start.

  Mine has had the kit fitted by the factory but still makes a lot of noise at low speed (25-40)..and the car sometimes jumps sideways which is alarming but seems harmless....I have approached the dealer who two weeks ago was waiting for news from Citroen and just said they were aware of the problem...but apart from lying on the ground and confirming the prescence of the "kit" has not actually test driven it......somewhere else on this site there is mention of a number of recalls on C5s but I haven't had a single one.....is this other people's experience??

  Just to prove the power of suggestion, I bought a 1990 Citroen BX TZS automatic estate on Friday. 120k miles, full main dealer history to 100k (probably nothing since then) M.O.T. to May, taxed'til April. (300 UKP yes, I know I was robbed, but...) I do like to give fellow readers a quiet smile as they surf with their cup of tea!
