97 1.9 HELP! - immobiliser keypad - DanG
2 months ago, I brought a 1997 Citroen ZX "Leader" 1.9 straight diesel. Whilst this car was fitted with the immobiliser keypad, this did not work - i was told it had been "de-activated"

I have been driving the car around without problem, putting about 3K miles on it already.

Tonight, when I went to start the car, I was greeted with flashing lights, a lit up keypad and beeping. It appears the keypad has sprung into life and since I do not have a code I cannot get the car started !

Why has this suddenly happened? What can I do? I need a quick fix, since I have to be in work first thing in the morning. Not worried about getting shot of the keypad altogether!

Thanks, Dan

This is a long shot, remove the keyad for a couple of minutes clean contacts and replace, then try 1111 or 0000 and keep everything crossed. Nothing to lose anyway at this point.
