citroen ax '92' ignition light problems - kwilks

Hi all,

I have a citroen ax 1992 and have been experiencing a problem for a few weeks now. It all started when my car wouldn't start, had the rac to look at it and they advised me the alternator has gotten wet in a storm and had failed but checked alternator jump started me and said it was now fine....Took the car for a drive came home half an hour later and wouldn't start again. I then bought a new battery as I the one I had was very old and had been run flat many a time after replacing it the car ran fine no probs.....but now 3 weeks on the ignition light is playing up...It either doesn't come on at all or flashes for about 2 seconds when car is first started?!?! but I have been running car now for 3 weeks and no problems starting?? any help welcome
