  • Toyota Corolla - Service 2 Jan 2019 (Forum)
I have a T registration Toyota Corolla 19 years old, automatic with just over 103,000 miles on the clock. I'm told that with older cars, even reliable cars like mine, which is in excellent condition, that a regular service is not that important and to just fix things,  as and when they need doing.

  • saloon family car 12 Jun 2018 (Forum)
[endif]--> Hi need some advice on a family car. I have a budget 10k but ideal would be 7/8k. It has to be automatic and im doing about 20k mileage most is motorway. Economy is important. Max 70k mileage and 2012 oldest. Options i looked at was hyundai i40, mondeo. (Don't want the expensive brands)Also if I went to 11k budget is a 15 plate passat worth it over a 7/8k car.
  • Ibiza 2006 - Climate Control 22 May 2018 (Forum)
Also, on this model and I believe other VAG cars, the controls flash to indicate a fault on start up. If it is just a regas required, will the fault code disappear automatically or will VAG Com be needed?
  • VW Jetta 1.4 tsi - Should I fit Winter tyres or look for a 4x4 vehicl 4 Mar 2018 (Forum)
Due to the recent bad weather. I've found it very difficult getting around.we have a Jetta 1.4 automatic. Had to dig it out of the Snow the other day and it was struggling to go up inclines and such. I'm wondering if fitting Snow/Winter tyres for the winter months would be an idea or possibly look for a second hand small 4x4 Thanks Ian
  • Comfortable Seating 19 Feb 2018 (Forum)
I had a back operation last year and still suffer from lower back pain and pains in the backs of the thighs when sitting. I currently drive a C-Max automatic which is OK-ish but am keen to buy something with very comfortable, ideally electric, seats. I am not too concerned with consumption as I drive relatively low miles, nor really with size. It needs to be reliable and well-built though in addition to being comfortable.
  • Estate car under £3000 27 Jun 2017 (Forum)
I am going to buy an estate car for under £3000. My requirements are petrol (drive less than 5000 miles a year) and automatic (dodgy knee). I dont know what to buy, a 10 year old Mondeo or similar or a 14 year old 5 series or Mercedes. What should I be looking for and importantly what should I be avoiding.

  • Peugeot 1007 - Doors - Peugeot 1007 - Doors and Seatbelts 17 Sep 2014 (Forum)
Doors: The passenger door on my Peugeot 1007 won't open automatically and needs to be manually opened. The contacts have been sprayed with WD40 but to no avail. There is no problem with the driver's door which works fine. Seatbelts: An over-enthusiastic puppy has chewed the rear seatbelts!!
  • Audi A4 - Audi A4 Electronic Brake 3 May 2014 (Forum)
The electronic parking brake on my 2008 2ltr diesel model has developed a fault. The automatic release facility no longer works, so I have to use manual release by depressing the foot brake, this is tricky when on a slope. I have been told by my independent Audi garage that the clutch cylinder will need to be replaced as the faulty switch is part of it.
  • Manual electrics 4 Apr 2013 (Forum)
However, I've always driven a manual and want to stay with a stick shift. The fuel savings versus automatic are particularly appreciated when I have the horse box in tow.  Something like a G-Wiz or Twizy would be fine, but when are the manufacturers going to get the message that not all of us are fans of two-pedalled motoring?
  • Vauxhall Astra G Petrol - Fuel filling problem 14 Dec 2012 (Forum)
My girlfriend drives a Vauxhall Astra V reg and she has had this problem since she had the car. If the tank is filled up, the garage pump doesn't automatically stop when the tank is full, instead floods the forecourt. Does anyone have an idea as to what the cause could be? I'm suspecting its something to do with a gasket or grommet that has perished, but I don't know Vauxhall cars.
  • Mitsibushi lancer 1.6 or Mitsibushi lanc2.0 sport? 29 May 2012 (Forum)
Has anyone owned either of these or heard they are to be avoided. I'm looking at 2 of these both automatics and estates ones a 2005 and the other a 2007, whilst not that fuel effecient, they aren't much worse than the Honda Civic and I would get a newer car with less miles for my money? I've heard the 1.6 is a bit underpowered to pull the body size?
  • 2lt. petrol qashqai acenta auto. - Delivery of Qashqai to Spain 30 Mar 2012 (Forum)
The garage has been very slow in giving me any timescale for delivery. Is there any difficulty or delay in these cars coming to Spain. They say that automatics are slow on the production line. Can anyone offer info. on this matter.  I'm really concerned because I've already given them my car as part exchange.(silly me)
  • Brake lights on all the time 16 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Most off-putting as you approach as it makes you think there's a hazard/cutting up etc ahead. How can he have managed that?!  Wiring may have gone awry but can you drive an automatic with the 'brake' still on?  I reckoned it to be an auto C-class early 2000s.
  • 2006 renault laguna - 2006 Renault Laguna, Good or Bad!!! 6 Mar 2011 (Forum)

  • BMW 320d - DMF 10 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Does anyone know do 3 series diesel suffer from this? Does any manufacturer of diesels not suffer from this? I understand that automatics do not have them but I would prefer a manual gearbox. Any advice or info appreciated.
  • AC-Delco Battery 17 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Went to get the Chevy out of the garage today for it's fortnightly run and the battery has decided to expire even though it's on a fully automatic charger. The battery is an AC-Delco 75-6YR which has side mounted terminals. I can order one from the US. for about $120 plus shipping but before I do, does anyone know where I can get a replacement or equivalent without paying the ridiculous markup GM UK. expect?
