• Jaguar XF 3.0D S 275 bhp - Confirming the Correct Discs, Pads and Wear Sensor 13 Aug 2023 (Forum)
    I am going to replace the front and rear discs and pads on my 2015 X250 XF 3.0D S - it has 355mm discs on the front as I believe all facelift (2012 - 2015) X250 3.0D S models had. Before going ahead and ordering, I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could confirm the discs, pads and sensors below are correct for the car.

  Earlier today I was turning into a space and misjudged the amount room I had. As a result I tapped the rear wheel arch of the car in the other space. I got out and check for damage. There was a very light scratch on the car and some paint transfer on mine. I was only collecting a parcel so didn't stay around long. However, I took photos of both cars and left a note on the windscreen with my number, name, explanation and an apology!

  i have got a escort gti 1998. the problem is that the n/s front is higher than the o/s front. when i checked from top of tyre to arch it is 1" lower on the o/s front. the spring looks ok. no knocking and steering ok. but something is wrong but what.... please help if you can.

  At night my 'view' distance is to a light I can see in the distance oncoming or the lights of the vehicle in front 2. In the day its the same thing, for me, its the distance to an oncoming vehicle lights or the lights of the car in front. It is not how far I can see the vague hedge on the side of the road or the lines down the centre.

  Apart from that the car is in good condition and I think the ride quality issue is down to that. My questions are; How much for a recon subframe? Is it a pig of a job to do? How would I support a car on axle stands with out a subframe?

  It stops again when the car slows down. I think the car is also making a really low pitched booming as well - at higher speeds when it isn't going whoopmh. Anybody know what this could be? The garage was no help, as it doesn't make it from standing.

  At just under 3 yrs old and 60,000 miles my 2.0 hdi picasso needs a new front pipe and back box at a price coming in around £500. The catalytic converter is integral with the front pipe, thats the big cost. Car is mainly used on long journeys - 2 hrs plus, driven to get there as such.

  Many years ago, I lived with my parents in a terraced house. In front of the houses were three parking bays. I bought my first car but it had no tax. My father told me that I could park it in one of the bays legally because there was a dark line in the road in front of all three parking bays and that depicted the parking bays behind the line as classed as off road.

  After having negotiated a newly laid car park, with very fine stone, I seem to have picked up a stone (or two) between the disc and the protective backplate, on my front off-side wheel's disc brake assembly. Most of the time I don't notice it, but then suddenly it seems to get picked up and then makes some temporary grinding noises and then suddenly stops.

  The Accord was delviered with Pilot Premacies and managed to get the lease company to allow KwikFit to keep fitting them (two new sets of fronts and one new set of rears fitted in 87k) Had a puncture in May and the left front was changed for a Primacy HP - was told it was the replacement. Right front was replaced last Tuesday due to wear and has done around 500 miles.

  Bit of a strange one. car is a 1996 volvo 850 estate t-5 my rear abs sensors were well out of tolerance, so i ordered up a complete new set of sensors front and back and fitted them today. now after fitting the speedo is under reading by about 50% i understand that the speedo takes its reading from the front wheel abs sensors, so i have obviously done something wrong while fitting the front ones to casue this problem??.

  I've noticed that as soon as a passenger (or heavy load) gets in it sounds like the front wheels start rubbing on the bodywork of the car but only when I turn the steering wheel a complete turn either left or right. The ball joints, shocks, steering, etc. were checked in November with no problems to report, and it passed its MOT a few weeks later - although I know things can go wrong at any time.

  This has made the rear a little stiff for my liking , what im experience now is front steering very light and vague , and strange feeling of total vagueness from the front . Would you say I now need front shocks ? Should I have the rears replaced to the original oil ?

  The car is a 1992 230E auto (124) with ventilated discs. About 3 years ago I replaced the front pads in about one and a half hours in a very straightforward and logical process. All was fine. Now they need doing again, and I want to replace the front discs which are probably original.

  A large number of pedestrian involved accidents today are blamed on the car or vehicle driver but have seen people walk out in front of cars, lorries and even buses as if they don't even see them, aren't they big enough to see coming towards them. How many people instead of waiting at the pedestrian lights walk across them right in front of vehicles.
