The Accord was delviered with Pilot Premacies and managed to get the lease company to allow KwikFit to keep fitting them (two new sets of fronts and one new set of rears fitted in 87k)
Had a puncture in May and the left front was changed for a Primacy HP - was told it was the replacement.
Right front was replaced last Tuesday due to wear and has done around 500 miles.
Car now understeers far more than it used to and having checked the Tyre test links on mytyres the Premacy HP is supposed to be better. Still got Pilot Primacies on the rear but only for another couple of thousand.
Anyone else experienced this?

I have Premacy HPs on the front wheels of my C5, having had Pilot Primacy before, and I would say they are an improvement all round on my car. Better grip, better ride comfort and quieter too.

Had Michelin HP's fitted all round as replacements for Bridgestone Turanza ER 30 at 35000 miles. Now done 4000 on HP's and would say they are quieter, stiffer carcass, wet grip feels similar.Think they will last even longer than the Turanza's.Will have to wait a few months for dry weather to see what the dry grip is like.may be slightly less, but they are fine for my needs.

I'm amazed by your comments! I too replaced Turanza's with Primacy HP's - all Bridgestone tyres are noted for having stiff sidewalls and the Turanza's felt like iron rings rather than rubber tyres on my car (MB C270 Estate). The HP's are *hugely* better.
Also, Turanza's have a pretty short life - mine had a treadwear rating of 140 which is the lowest I've ever had on a car. I changed the rears at just under 20K miles and my car pretty well only does long steady motorway runs. 10K later with the HP's and they still look almost new.

The HPs seem to take longer to bed in this time of year wet roads etc. When I got mine fitted to the front of the Mondeo, in October, It did feel a bit softer on the front until they bedded in, which took about 700-800 miles. They are a much quieter tyre than the Pilots they replace and I've now got them on the back as the Pilots were droning a bit (totally quiet rear now). Another reason I put the Pilots on the front is to wear them out faster so as I can replace them with HPs ;0)

They only seem to be made in 16" and above, if I've been told correctly. Was intending to get them but may try Vredestein instead.

I know prices vary depending on where you go, but could someone give me an idea of the price of HPs - say compared with Firestone Firehawks which I had fitted to the Mondeo last time? Has anyone had HPs long enough yet to be able to offer an opinion on their durability?
Thanks, Waino

Wear rates - The one on the left front has done around 19k and still has about 4mm left (Diesel Accord Tourer) - the Pilot Primacies did 28-30k on the front as a comparator.
Don't know what the price is - lease car.
Looks like I will have to give the new one a few more miles to bed in.

I got mine for about £100 each, from a local dealer.

Thanks for the replies, chaps. My Firehawks (SZ80) on the front of my mk2 Mondeo 2L look as though they are going to do just over 20,000 miles. They cost £55 each fitted.
As my wheels are 15", I may already have disqualified myself from using HPs.

Mine are 205/55V R16 £310 four tyres inc. valve and balance. from costco and Kwik fit matched the price(although I did notice the colour drain out of the managers face when he said "how much")

I just had a set of 4 x 205/55 R16 V91 fitted half an hour ago for £304 in Bedford at the place on Tavistock St.

I was amazed that an independant tyre place in Warrington beat Costco's price straight off (without being told their price up front). They did however damage both the wheels they touched. :(
