BCA Pulse report shows that the budget market flourishes 14 Dec 2010 (News)
If the family car needs replacing, then it will be done, even if funds are tight. Often these vehicles will be the principal school run, work and recreation transport, so are essential to family life." Gannon added "One significant factor affecting the last days of the month was, of course, the weather. In past years, the snow and attendant travel chaos would have caused serious disruption to the remarketing sector, simply because the industry remained largely reliant on trade buyers being physically in the same location as the vehicles they were buying." -
BCA and Manheim auction reports for July 2010 11 Aug 2010 (News)
Performance against CAP Clean increased marginally from 94.68% to 94.83%. For the second month running, a relatively rich mix of cars has disguised some of the pressures in the marketplace and conversion rates remain fragile. That said, it is not unusual for some market issues to surface in the holiday season and this should be judged as typical seasonality - a factor only seen returning in recent weeks. -

What was the best-selling car in February? 4 Mar 2010 (News)
Much of the March recovery will be attributable to scrappage and the scheme accounted for 19.6% of the market in February. Final orders through the scheme must be made by the end of March, or sooner if funds run out. The scheme's impact will diminish during Q2 with market decline expected in the second half of 2010. It also predicts that new car demand will be building up, after a sustained period of hold-off, but with economic recovery still fragile and uncertainty over the impacts of the Budget in March and a general election in Spring, the outlook for registrations in 2010 is subdued and cautious, with an expected decline of almost 10% to 1.82 million units. -

He believes most car manufacturers are cutting corners on brakes. Dear Again at Auction Today 22 Sep 2004 (News)
So not a very good day, but things are bound to improve as supply increases and demand slips away in the run up to Christmas. Maybe even tomorrow when the post Office will be disposing of 35 red vans at BCA’s Thursday LCV sale. As always the best way to look for a specific car coming up at auction or to pre-check a day’s sale is to visitSome Cheap Classics at Auction Today 6 Oct 2003 (News)
A similarly barn found 1932 MG F1 Magna made a lot more sense at £7,200 because at least it was a six cylinder MG. But to my mind the buys of the day were the more modern cars sold ready to run or to mothball until next Spring as the case may be. When I see a really nice, clean Heritage re-shelled 1963 MGB sell for £6,500 I start to wonder whether I should continue recommending Mazda MX5s instead.
