A4 Auxiliary heater 21 Nov 2005 (Forum)
I have a 2004 A4 1.9 TDI and in the intstruction manual it eludes to the fact that if ECON is off, the climate control can provide auxiliary heating at very low temperatures before the engine itself gets warm. Is this likely to be present on my model or is it an extra fitted in countries where it gets very cold as a matter of course ? -
Water in coolant 5 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I should have thought that the inhibitors in normal coolant would have been sufficiently powerful that - like in a central heating system - tap water is perfectly adequate for use. -

The Paintshop 8 Mar 2007 (Forum)
The car, an obscure Japanese model, with an even more curious model name, had been under the the occasional shade of a coconut palm for the last week as I passed by, heading out of town. At first it had seemed as though it were being given a thorough valet, but soon it was to my interest, a bare shell, a skeleton of a car, still on the road, in the position it had been parked. -

Citroen Saxo (1997 - 2003) - 96 1.5d Flat Start 14 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Also the mpg has drop from an average of 50-55mpg down to 40 mpg! I have replaced the glow plugs, checked the pre and post heat timing and they appear fine. I have also checked the temperature sensor which the post heat timer works off and this gives no resistance reading when cold but when hot I get a reading although can't remember exactly what so I am guessing this is also working fine.
