Fiesta 1.6s like hens teeth? 16 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Hi all, Can anyone tell me why there arn't so many late shape Fiesta 1.6's about? Been going through the main dealer sites & forecourts, they have many 1.25s & 1.4s in stock but not 1.6s under the Zetec or Ghia trim etc.. only the Zetec S which in my opinion is best for the race track due to it's short gearing. -
Insurance costs/groups 11 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Do insurance groups really bear any relation to the true risk of the vehicles? For a 25-year-old newly qualified driver, the quote for a Volvo S40 1.6 S is £1000. For a Volvo S80 2.5 T S, it is £1,950 (other details identical). Insurance groups are 7 vs. 15. I can't see there is that much difference in the vehicles to justify the extra cost. If you have a high insurance group you basically have to eat the cost of most types of damage to your car due to the effect on the NCD. -

Citroen C3 1.4HDI 16v 13 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Basically on Monday while driving along my car began to accelerate on its own. After regaining control the engine continued to rev at 3 thousand revs. It?s now in the hands of the dealer and Citroen UK don?t seem all that bothered telling me it?s perfectly ok and to let them fix it under warranty. Basically im left thinking this is a pretty dangerous fault on this car I mean surely if something fails the car should stop not accelerate to whatever speed it likes. it looks like the middle of October before it returns to the road. -
Mondeo Clutch! 6 Jun 2007 (Forum)
What can I expect to pay to get sorted? The other is a 2003 2.0 LX with 65k miles. It?s in top nick, and I don?t particularly want to get rid of it, but when can I expect the clutch to need sorting? Many thanks. -
RF Junior - First car 21 May 2007 (Forum)
Insurance (for a 17 year old) is the prime mover here, Basically it means 1.1 106, 1.1 saxo, possibly polo. He has £800 pounds to spend (1200 saved for insurance!) so we are looking at 96,97,98 Saxo 1.1's and 96, 97, 98 106 1.1's three favours please guys, 1/ what problems do I need to look for on these (50-100k miles mark) 2/ If you see one nearby up for sale in your street , within 30 miles of woking, tip me the wink please. 3/ Tips for insuring young *male* drivers. -

Which Tyre? 20 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Well the Shuttle is in need of a couple of front tyres, it has P6000s on the the front at the moment but I have always found them to be a bit soft and as such don't wear well, being a 2.3 auto and a 7 seater the fronts take quite a bit of punishment so I want something that is quite hard wearing. So far I have narrowed it down to GOODYEAR - NCT5, Pirelli P6000's again or firestone tz200's the tyre size is 205 65 15H and budget is about £60 tops (each, fitted), I want to stay with a well known brand as this car carries lots of kids and does a fair amount of motorway work now. -

Space Cadets 12 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Being an anorak, i spotted three things that were obviously not Russian - the Abbott SP Gun patrolling the perimeter in deepest Russia, the GB registered helicopter that transported the cadets to Krimsk, but also the bus (motoring): The bus looked to me to be a LHD Bedford and ex RAF - put a yellow stripe down the side and a roundal, and it's the school bus i used to catch in Liege to go to the British school in the early 80's. Obviously the logo's have been removed. By chance if there's anyone on here who was serving in Europe in the 1980's, and also happens to be watching Space Cadets, can you put my mind at rest? TIA -

CLK 230 or 320 ? 15 May 2005 (Forum)
So here's where I need some help as I am finding it hard to see the difference between the Elegance and Avantgarde spec apart from the harder ride of the latter. Also is the 320 really a must ? there are loads of 230's out there but the 320's seem scarce. Lastly (Gasp) can anyone tell me the differences between the phase one (97-00) and the phase two (00-02) model apart from the slight body changes. Thanks everyone. -
Replacing bulb Peugeot 307 21 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I have just been through the delightful experience of replacing a headlight bulb on my 307. If I typpe badddly it\'s because my fingers feel shredded, aching, filthy, and raw ! Talk about squeezing a quart into a pint pot (old fashioned expression for our younger metric viewers...) The bulb has a clip which has to be released. -
