  i have a 1998 escort gti. can anyone please help me on the following. does the escort gti have a ecu warning light in the dash as i cant see one when i turn ignition on. does it have a low fuel warning light ?? reason for the ecu light is that i have a flat spot / slight judder but only every now and again. i have changed the plugs and leads. has anybody had the same problem ???

  The 1.7 cdti was not sold by open in Ireland it's a UK spec and registered car. The car has been with the dealer a week now and they suspect either the ecu or the wiring may be at fault. I am thinking this could be a very expensive repair and the car is not worth that much. Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer me on this corsa issue?  Thanks

  Had a different ECU fitted at weekend to my focus Car ran ok for a hour or two Then just died, turns over but no spark at plugs Could the garage have killed the replacement ECU, i think he left my old coil pack on cos he said it was ok.

  I have a 2002 vectra 1.8 ls that has had a misfire since i bought it, it has had a new coil pack, I have spent several hours trying to find out what the problem is and now i'm at my whits end, upon checking the injection system I have found that there is no pulse to number 4 injector, the ecu looks fairly new, i've tried linking a wire from the start of the plug on the loom but still no pulse, could it be the ecu and if so can i just replace the ecu from a breakers or does it need to be re-programed.

  This raises a couple of questions I need help with to limit my costs: 1. Can the current ecu not be interrogated to determine the root cause, thereby saving me money? I couldn't get this out of the garage 2. Can a replacement ecu be plugged in without fixing the instrument lights to determine the root cause?

  can anyone help , have just had a second hand engine put in my vectra 2ltr and some of the dash lights stay on airbag ect ,some one told me that i need my ecu reset could this be true ,could i reset this thanks

  If the ccolant sensor reads 5C low, then the fuelling may be affected because the ECU thinks that the engine is not fully warm - as an example. Can any ECU experts out there enlighten us?

  Started car up this morning and the temp gauge wasnt registering then all of a sudden it shot up into the red, i took it to the garage and was told it was 1 of 3 faulty senser, a friend of mine did a diagnostic an got error codes P0115 Coolant temp signal and U2139 Can-Bus no comunicationwith engine control module, he says that its a wireing fault with which he says its a faulty ECU, could anyone tell me if the sensors could be the cause or do i need another ECU????,,,

But I need to know where the ECU is actually situated in my car so that I can take it out and get the part number.

  Hi all, i have a problem with said golf ECU light is on in dash, have changed lambda sensor all so have changed mass air flow meter but still the ECU light is on in the dash. the ABS light comes on at times when i start the engine but stays on for a while & could go off it's self or not at all !

  I have a Pug 406 110 hdi on a T plate, I have been told that i have to have my new ecu recoded to the car, the car run`s ok, but i cannot erase the fault code`s (p0230_p0380) . also another quickie question, would a ecu from a hdi-90 work ok on a hdi-110. as the only difference i could see is the inter-cooler side of it.

  On a recent service visit to the main Vauxhall dealer i pointed out that my vehicle (fitted with this engine)on occations felt as if the power dropped off momentarily during hard acceleration. When i picked up the car they told me that the technician had reprogrammed the ECU with the latest version of the software. I am aware of the function of the ECU but wondered if anyone could enlighten me a bit more about what improvements i might expect if any. Thanks in advance.

  Left front, side and rear indicators have stopped working. Have been told its the ecu? Are the indicators controlled by the ecu and if so does anyone know if a re wire using a flasher unit is possible as I dont want the cost of changing the ecu etc etc? Thanks in advance

  Can anyone advise? My wife's Clio broke down last week - the ECU had a fried capacitor inside it on inspection. Another one put on .... week's fine motoring ..... today the same thing and same capacitor. Any thoughts what could be causing this? Many thanks, Y

  hi, me and a friend have recently swapped the engine in my 1999t escort from a 1.6 zetec (snapped cambelt, uneconomical repair) to a 1993k 1.8 zetec 105ps (free donor car that ran perfectly) the car runs rough with the original ecu (assumed mapping/lean mixture etc). the problem we've encountered is that due to the 1.6 ford immobiliser we don't seem to be able to start the car using the original 1.8 ecu, so the question is : when buying a second hand 1996 onwards immobiliser-compatible ecu (ebay seems to have some) will it need to come with any ther kit for the immobiliser (compatible transponder key etc) or can it just be plugged straight in and started. i've searched the web but got no straight answers.

  Hello. Can someone please advise me what it could potentially mean if the ECU light doesn't come on at all? I am used to the light coming on for a few seconds and then going off when starting the vehicle. However, with no obvious cause, the light doesn't come on at all. The car is a Mk3 MR2.

  I have heard that there are problems with the ECU, electric steering and water pump with the Daihatsu Sirion . Has anyone on here had any problems?   Would there be any signs of these problems or would the car just stop working?
