Left front, side and rear indicators have stopped working. Have been told its the ecu? Are the indicators controlled by the ecu and if so does anyone know if a re wire using a flasher unit is possible as I dont want the cost of changing the ecu etc etc? Thanks in advance
Is the indicator stalk floppy, does it over cancel?
If so then it probably needs refurbing. Its a common fail part on the 307 over time / mileage / usage.
That part is called the COMM2000 unit and costs around £29 to repair. Have a look for a West Yorkshire ebayer who repairs them (type COMM2000 into the search box). He's highly recommended.
Thanks for the quick reply. I have changed the BSI (located under the main engine fuse board) and having consulted an auto electrican I was assured that it is not coded one so it was a case of installing, plug and play so to speak. Switches are all okay. Fuses are all okay. Earthing is good. Only thing I can think of if if the BSI which I obtained was bust too :-(
Hmmmm thats quite onfusing as under the main engine fuseboard there is a printed circuit board and was informed by the auto electrician that that was the BSI. I will have a look behind glove box though cheers for that. any ideas how easy it would be to bypass the BSI with the indicators and rewire them to there own flasher?
Bypass of the bsi to make the indicators work is not at all easy or practical. You would need a different switch and flasher unit and all relevent wiring, and don't forget the hazard lights will need to work correctly also .
