  • Bumper dent removal 8 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Son now has an ostrich egg size dent in the corner of his 'S' Astra plastic bumper. He is of the opinion that if he applies heat to the rear of the dent then the plastic will become pliable and he can then push the dent out. Possible???????? DVD

  • Fiat 500 (2008) - poss Body Control Module fault 3 Feb 2014 (Forum)
I took my Fiat 500 into my Fiat garage as it had developed a problem with the intermittent windscreen wipers - they only work intermittently.  The Fiat garage reported that a couple of "faults" had shown and suggested replacing the Stalk that controls the windscreen wipers.  I went ahead (cost £350.00).

The problem practically makes the vehicle unusable, as no length of time with the fans on full speed will demist the windscreen. Any advice on what else could possibly be causing this issue would be greatly appreciated!     Thanks in advance

  • MOT preperations - what do you do? 30 Sep 2008 (Forum)
All connections have been 'opened' and 'resealed' using Swarfega Duck oil as it is far better (smells nicer too!) than WD40 I think! I have also 'degreased' the windscreen and used Isopropanol alchohol to clean the rubbers on the windscreen wipers of grease etc build up. I was going to polish it today too - but it has started to rain & heavy... ...so I am now on the interior 'valet' stage!

  • 1995 Peugeot 405 1.8 petrol Manuel. - Car running hot 15 Nov 2015 (Forum)
Once that was done I got heat inside the car for the first time! The temp issue improved but is still not ideal, it takes longer to get hot but now sits at 104'C!  The strange thing is the whole system is stable at these high Temps and never goes higher then 112, (108 now the matrix has been changed) guess it all flows better now.

  • KIA cee'd - 2008 1.6D Kia Cee`d grinding noise from front 6 Sep 2012 (Forum)
I`ve recently noticed this rubbing-grinding noise coming from underneath the front of the car. It is only noticable at very low speed and more so when turning and when the car is slowing down from a higher speed. I thought that it might be a worn driveshaft joint or bearing so I had the car in with the dealer today.

Having lost a key, I ordered a replacement and booked in for programming with a respected ex Rover dealer in W. Yorks. Upon arrival at garage my remote worked, my window switches worked, my heated rear screen switch worked etc. After an hour or so the techie. came in and announced 'your remote doesn't work, both existing key AND new key.' In addition, the electric window switches on drivers door had reversed ( drivers operated passenger and vice versa) and the heated rear screen switch remained on.

  • Are there any good sub £1k cars in forecourts? 16 Oct 2008 (Forum)

  • Hyundai i20 1.2SE - Experience 9 Jun 2019 (Forum)
    2) Excellent equipment levels (inc: Cruise control, Air con, Parking sensors, DAB, Bluetooth, Chilled glovebox, Electric heated and adjustable mirrors, Front and rear electric windows etc). Don't know why anyone buying an i20 would feel the need to buy a higher spec car than the SE. 3) Space saver spare wheel and the well was big enough to take a full size steel spare.
