  • Chrysler Voyager Electrics 28 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Hi Room My wife purchased a 2004 Chrysler Grand Voyager LX 12 months ago. The thing has been plagued with heating/ electrical problems. 3 trips back to the garage so far and now the heater blower has stopped working and its not the fuse. Question: Are these cars renowned for poor electrics or are we just unlucky?

  • aircon and air temperature 14 Jan 2002 (Forum)
In my mondeo's manual it says that its only ok to use the system when the outside air temperature is +4 deg C or above. But VW have been marketing the Polo on the radio saying that the cars aircon system can be used to heat the car up-I know you can turn the dial round to hot and have hot air coming out but would it not damage the system running it at say 0 deg C ie against the advice in the manual?

  • Clio front wheel drone 13 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Hi all, my Wife's 98 Clio 1.2 has developed a serious noise coming from the front (drivers side) wheel. I would describe it as a rumble/drone and is worsened by turning the steering wheel to the left. The car has done 65K and is otherwise very reliable. Could this be a worn wheel bearing and if so are they expensive to fix?
  • SAAB 9-3 (1998 - 2002) - 00 2.0 Differences between standard front discs 3 Jul 2009 (Forum)
I need to buy some front discs for my car and the price differences are enormous. Now I can understand that the pads would/could have different compounds and be made from different materials, offer different braking characteristics and resistance to fade, hence differnet prices for the pads but surely steel discs are steel discs?

The most horrifying things I have seen done to one of my cars was ........... (a) Balancing the front wheels on the car. This was a procedure carried out in the 1960s when McPherson Strut suspensions were in their infancy and front wheel balance was very critical.

SWMBO's 306 HDi estate broke its offside front spring today just as she was moving off and the spring penetrated the tyre. I've not heard of this happening before, so maybe we're just unlucky. It will be dealt with by a local garage (I'm not sure how they'll get the car there) on Friday.

  • Alfa 156 wipers? 9 Mar 2003 (Forum)
During the first year I had various problems that were dealt with by the manufacturer's warranty. One persistant problem was the 'slapping ' of the windscreen wipers on the side of the windscreen. I took the car to CD Bramells of Plymouth (my nearest Alfa Dealer) who tried on two occasions to cure the problem, stating that they were having this problem with the 156.
