Prices Reasonable at Auction Today 19 Nov 2004 (News)
Not often you see a TVR Tuscan 390 at auction, but there’s a first time for everything. This 20k mile 2000W example seemed to run okay with no sign of the head problems that can afflict the 4.0 litre Speed Six, but the trade is now wary of these cars so top bid was a low £15,900. X5s are now old enough to start getting sensible and top bid for a 39k mile 2000X 4.4 Sport was £22,400. -

Still the Odd Bargain at Auction 11 Jan 2002 (News)
A pair of consecutive registered 98S Golf 1.6S models were a bit more down to earth too. Previously run by the AA, so there shouldn't be any worries about maintenance, the 76,000 miler sold for £5,575. Then bidders woke up and the other, with a few more miles made £5,700. When a cute little 9,000 mile 2000X Daewoo Matiz kicked off at £2,000 I had to have a bid or two. -
Bring Back Top Gear 19 Aug 2001 (News)
He took one short drive of the Vauxhall Vectra then spent ten hilarious minutes apologizing that he couldn't find anything good to say about it. Okay, Vauxhall complained and the Beeb unwisely agreed to run Tiff Needell a few weeks later with a more complimentary report. But, of course, Jeremy was right, and this was where the Top Gear rot started. We need an honest, fair, balanced, politically incorrect TV motoring programme with the wit and style Clarkson singlehandedly introduced to motoring journalism. -
