Webasto HotShot 2 Jan 2005 (Forum)

Hi, I have smashed the back rear side window of my corsa car and was wondering what was best way to get this fixed. Spoke with auto windscreens and autoglass and they both quoting £200. I am fully comp insurance with an excess of £75.00 so was wondering if there was anyway of getting it fixed cheaper than that? -

Megane demisting problem 4 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I've had the car for two previous winters and I've never had this problem before. Also the air-con does appear to be working fine. -
306 Pollen Filter 11 Jan 2004 (Forum)
I thought it was time that I change the pollen filter in my car. Local parts shop have listing for 1.9 Dturbo but not for 2.0 HDI Dturbo and asked me to get a number from mine. Please where is it? I tried to seperate the intake box below the windscreen on the passenger side but the foam cover started to tear. -
Microchipped number plates 3 Dec 2002 (Forum)
These number plates together with the roadside technology to read them will start being introduced in 2004. The main aims seem are to detect/prevent insurance offences, detect car thefts and, eventually, wil lead to the abolition of the windscreen VED with paperless/automated relicensing. It all seems good on paper but are there any drawbacks? -
Anti-freeze 31 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Just tried to scape the ice off my car windscreen.......hopeless then got my old halfords spray that your just spray on it "melts" the ice away, brilliant but its run out. Me being tight was wondering if just some anti freeze (coolant) with water would have the same affect., and put that in the spray dispenser. -
2500km in a Citroen Xantia 17 Feb 2002 (Forum)
t likely to be an issue in the UK. I have no idea how the heating is, I?ve never used it. Strangely it seems to get the back of the car much colder than it does the front. I loved the automatic windscreen wipers. Changing speed, interval and even on and off, depending on the wetness of the windscreen ? -
Car crime 16 Oct 2013 (Forum)
We think that the would-be thief was disturbed by the lights coming on and did a bunk. SWMBO thinks that the attempt was adventitious, the thief going around trying car doors until they found one that was unlocked. I had the crook bar on the steering wheel so the car couldn't have been taken (I think !!). I'll really have to make an effort to check the car in the evening. -
05 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI (115) - Rough Idle 22 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Fuel economy is still good and there's nothing wrong with the performance, as far as I can tell. I did notice one thing when I had it up in the air recently. The front-most exhaust heat shield is missing. Are there any sensors around that area that could be causing the problem and are perhaps overheating? The only other thing worth mentioning is that the ECU had a software update late 2009. -
re-initialising Xsara remote 29 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I offered to have a look inside.. having had some good experience in small circuit board repairs. The micro switch towards the front of the casing had come off the board. Due to the minute size of the componenet I invested in a 12W soldering so as not to fry any components due to excesive heat. I re-attached the micro switch and tested that it really was in circuit.... further down the circuit board.. -
2,000 miles in my Passat 26 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Plus points Overall build quality - inside and out Strong performance - it's loosened up a lot now and pulls really strongly even when fully laden Nice to drive - good feel and light controls Loads of space I've only tried the heated front seats twice (briefly), and I'm looking forward to those cold mornings The engine warms up much faster than my Audi 1.9TDi Good stereo Niggles That electronic handbrake takes some getting used to and seems a bit temperamental! -

Ceramic car heaters 13 Dec 2006 (Forum)
Has anyone got (or know anyone who has) one of those ceramic in car heaters you see advertised in the sunday papers? They sit on the top of the dash and plug into your cig lighter and give instant heat out. Ive read a review on one site and the writer seems somewhat underwhelmed. -

BMW 1 Series Convertible - Crack type noises 1 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Does anyone have any advice about loud crack type noises that seem to come from the dashboard or windscreen struts of the convertible we have just bought? It is a BMW series 1 car and the noises are quite disconcerting when driving over a bump or going round doundabouts? It is mainly in the first 10 miles of driving a journey and the car is only about 10 months old. -
Friend sort of wrongly given parking ticket 24 Apr 2009 (Forum)
He parked in a car park but bought a ticket but left the sunroof slightly open, the wind must have blown the ticket of the dashboard. When he got to the car the ticket was on the drivers seat and not the windscreen. He has proof via CCTV and via the ticket that he bought one, is there any hope of an appeal? -
Volvo S40 - 2007 Volvo S40 1.8 Petrol - Emissions Through the 29 Oct 2017 (Forum)
The garage was not very useful with providing a solution as they, naturally, wanted me to leave it at the garage to be fixed. Currently my theory is that the car is running very rich because of a lack of air getting into the combustion chambers as I've already tested the front heated lambda sensor and the voltage was within the range it should be, I've also taken a look inside the catalytic converter and that's fairly clean. -
