  • Vauxhall Meriva 1.7 CDTi - running temp 30 Dec 2006 (Forum)
Hi All, I have a Vauxhall CDTi engined car. 1. It takes around 10-15 miles to warm up. It's my 3rd diesel and this is soooo long. I was away over Xmas and rented a VW 1.9 TDi. This heated up like I expect a diesel should. 2. If I switch off for 30 mins, there appears to be very little heat retained and the temp gauge goes to the bottom. 3.
  • Mondeo TDCi engine temperature 25 Feb 2003 (Forum)
The new version is 23e. The problem is that the engine temperature pointer grows very slow. When I turn the internal heating on, the pointer falls down. When I stop the car (engine is turned on) the pointer falls down even to the lowest level. Everything was OK before software replacing. My mechanics are helpless. They have repeated computer programing, replaced the thermostat, but the problem is unsolved.
  • Nissan X-Trail (2001 - 2007) - 05 2.2 Replacing a Nissan branded radio/cd player 11 Jun 2010 (Forum)
I suspect that the main heating trunk behind the dash runs to the rear of the radio and warms it up but without looking...! Does anybody know first of all how the front silver dash surround unclips as the radio mounts are hidden behind?
  • Toyota Avensis D-4D 7 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Drove straight to the Audi dealer and started a process that ended up with an ex-demo A4 Avant Sport on the drive. The whole car FEELS so much more solid than the Toyota - and I'll even just about forgive its lack of heated mirrors. Dynamically it's fine too. So do any of you backroomers drive a new Avensis, and how do you like it?
  • Peugeot 307 Estate - Water getting in to footwell 26 May 2015 (Forum)
Our car (6 years old) has recently started letting water into the drivers side footwell. This has happened twice, first time after washing the car and second time after a heavy downpour.  We have assumed it is running down windscreen and is supposed to drain out.
  • Swing Wide Stupid Chariot... 9 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I wonder sometimes if I was the only person who was taught that if you wait until the corner is level with your left hand windscreen pillar you can turn left without swinging the car to the right and into oncoming traffic, or me if I'm passing them on a dual carriageway... (PS I'm refering to car and small van drivers here!!)
  • Bought a new car 1 Dec 2019 (Forum)
After having poor headlights on the last car I was definitely wanting LED Headlights. Heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors. Quite a few cars in this class/ size have electrically adjustable mirrors without heating. Cruise control.
  • Ford Focus immobiliser 8 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Twice after long journeys in hot weather the car has failed to start (electrics working but no turn over),last time I left it and the next day it started no problem. Is it something to do with the heat or is this coincidental?

  • Renault Laguna 2 (2005) - Climate Control on Laguna 16 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Hi, My climate control unit is blank leaving no control over any heating functions, all switches and dials are non-responsive..  no heated rear-window, no fan control etc.. I have searched and found several entries regarding backlight issues, the backlight works so dont believe this is the issue.
  • Mirror heater elements 29 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Hi, Does anyone know if you can buy aftermarket heating element pads for door mirrors. I own a 23 year old Rover SD1 Vitesse which is in pretty good nick. The heating elements on the backs of the door mirrors have succumbed to corrosion after all this time, but with winter approaching, fog free mirrors are a godsend.

  • Frosty morons 18 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Still can't believe people are stoopid enough to drive with the rear window completely frosted up, both rear side windows frosted, passenger window frosted, windscreen frosted - with a small 'seal' hole scraped from which to peer through, and most of the drivers window frosted. Absolute morons. Saw several today including one beemer (! like I should be surprised) which drove past a police car and the rozza cared not a jot.
