Honda CRV Nissan Qashqai Hyundai Kia Sportage etc. - You see a used SUV you say 7 Feb 2014 (Forum)
A nice drive would be appreciated - I do around 10K miles a year so a bit of comfort would be nice as well as a few toys for winter, heated windscreen, seats, remote starting (is that available anyway?!) 2WD is fine. I've been looking around and have quickly become confused with so many conflicting opinions but a few more are always appreciated. -
Windscreen crack, advice please 21 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Question being, I need to use the motor next week for at least a couple of days, this will be around 200 miles a day, mostly motorways, A roads, at speed, so should I be driving at a slower speed and hoping for the best, laying off the fast stuff and just toodling along, or just sod the work and get it into a windscreen replacement place ASAP? Suppose I am basicaly saying ,is the screen going to suddenly shatter at 70mph showering me with chips of laminated glass which will ruin my barnet? Cheers All -- Drink Lager, Talk Piffle ! -
Faulty windscreen washers - Ford Focus 17 Feb 2004 (Forum)
The windscreen washers on my 1999 Focus suddenly decided to stop working correctly a month or two back. I can still hear the pump working as normal, but it takes about 5 seconds for any water to appear, and even then the jet is much weaker than it was previously. -

The MOT 15 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Took the car in for its MOT on Saturday to a garage I don't normally use. The chap had it up on a lift and shone his torch all over, had a delve into the crevices within the wishbones etc and he passed the car wth no advisory notes. -
Saving fuel: Car vs House 2 Oct 2008 (Forum)
The point is that it is easy to make huge fuel savings in homes - far more than in cars. And my house (rural detached old house in the Highlands) still uses twice as much fuel as my car. What is the government doing about it? Well, public buildings are, almost invariably pretty warm. -
Honda FR-V - FRV blower fan working but no air output 6 Jan 2024 (Forum)
The issue I have though is that there's no air flow out of any of the vents. The screen vent (just under the windscreen), front facing vents and floor vents - all putting nothing out. Can anyone shed any light on this or make any suggestions where I should look next please? Potentially connected but maybe a totally separate issue is that when I key the engine to the first position before turning over to start the fans by the radiator in the engine bay start running even though the car is cold. -

Hyundai Tucson 1.6 GDi Blue Drive SE Nav 5dr 2WD - Negotiating a discount on a used Hyundai Tucson 23 May 2018 (Forum)
Hello, I'm about to buy my first car and I'm completely clueless when it comes to the whole used car buying process! I quite like the Hyundai Tucson 1.6 GDi Blue Drive SE Nav 5dr 2WD (petrol, manual), 2017 model. I've seen some advertised for approx £17,300 with 7,000-10,000 miles, reversing camera and heated front seats etc. -
Nissan Note (2006 - ) - 07 1.6 demisting 14 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Great car but I'm fed up with continual windscreen misting. I dont want the aircon in winter (also fuel efficiency) as recommended. Anyone else experience this or is it peculiar to my car? -
Audi A4 heater - not much heat! 19 Feb 2007 (Forum)
For no apparent reason and with no warning my heater (2000 Audi A4 Avant 2.4 petrol engine) was hardly working yesterday. The air-con aspect seems fine in so far as cold air can be produced, but even on a high heat only a little warm air was forthcoming - to be precise plenty of air flow but only a little heat. Engine water temperatures showed completely normal, header tank at correct level so nothing out of the ordinary. -
Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 1998 - Heated rear screen not working 19 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Suddenly the heated rear screen in my 1998 Fiesta has stopped functioning, having checked the fuse which incidently was ok (replaced anyhow, incase this was at fault) the screen is still not working. The button lights up as if it should be on but the screen itself does not work. -
Saab heated seats 17 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Have asked H-J about the heated seats on my Saab 9000, compared to other 9000s they take ages to warm up and then are not as warm. H-J has suggested that I let Saab specialist have a look due to risk of fire. However, I am used to working in safety critical environment (aircraft) and would appreciate ideas as to what might be the problem. -
FIAT Bravo and Brava - Removing Track Rod Ends From 1997 Fiat Bravo 18 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I am going to replace the track Rod Ends on my 1997 Fiat Bravo and attempt it myself. I just want to know if this is possible without the aid of using heat. In the past heat had to be used when adjusting my wheel alignment in some previous cars. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. -
Peugeot 307 (2001 - 2007) - 01 2.0 temp gauge giving false reading-overheating 14 Dec 2009 (Forum)
my 307 keeps flashing up on the dashboard that it is over heating. temp gauge goes to the top and starts flashing. the car is not over heating, shows no signs of being hot and if i turn off the ignition for a short while and turn it back on again it resets itself. any idea,s please. -
Rover 200 (1995 - 1999) - 1999 1.4 Not getting warm 3 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Hi, I've bought a Rover 200 as a run around but it's not kicking out hot air through the heaters. If the car is stood still the temp gauge goes up as normal, doesn't over heat but only a small amount of heat comes out of the heaters. If you start driving then the gauge goes down to nothing and cold air comes through the heaters. -
Focus - Cloth to Leather seat conversion 13 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Hi all, I have been offered a full set of leather seats for my car ('99 Ford Focus MK1 2.0l Zetec Ghia), I assume fittings will be exactly the same, but the more important question is: would the heated part of the seats be a plug in affair? i.e. would there already be wiring in place for it, and does anyone with a focus know what switches / knobs there are to control the heat (are they on/off or thermostat controlled?) -
