  • Leaning into a bend 14 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Why do so many car drivers lean their body into a bend, instead of remaining upright? If they were driving a two-wheeler I could understand it, but not when they are driving a car. -- L\'escargot by name, but not by nature.

  • Fiat Punto Evo - "Check engine" light came on, now gone off 20 Mar 2013 (Forum)
Also got the warning that "start stop" was disabled All appeared to be OK and the car appeared to drive normally with no misfire etc. Booked it in to the garage for diagnostics next week, they said OK to drive until then. Have used it 4 times since then, car driving OK. Filled up with petrol (was half full at that point) and now the warning lights have gone off.
  • Motorway vs Town 8 Nov 2010 (Forum)
This is a big request but I'm really hoping someone could recommend me a car.... Ok so some info about my driving. Weekends - I tend to do mainly motorway driving visiting friends and family. This tends to be mainly motorway drives at speeds of about 85 mph. At these revs (4k) i uses a fair amount of fuel.
  • Honda Civic UK (2006 - ) - Honda Civic Aerodeck. Whats the knocking 25 Aug 2007 (Forum)
I also seem to get a vibrating when braking from high speeds ( I initially thought this was just the ABS). I recently had the car serviced and when they were doing the test drive the mechanic commented that he thought my drive shaft was in need of repair. I've since spoken to another mechanic and he says it might be a few things like a loose coil or the cv boot as opposed to the drive shaft.
  • Worst Car in the BR? 3 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Call me sad, but this question has been driving me up the walls. I was writing my profile for the site and naturally I had to say what car I had. I then did a very fast recollection of all the other cars I have heard people drive in the BR and it made me think whether I drive the worst/cheapest car in here.

  • Dangerous driving charge 12 May 2011 (Forum)
A friend's son is in big trouble. Aged about 30, with six points on his licence for speeding, driving a highish-powered Ford Mondeo, he was provoked by aggressive driving in North London recently into attempting an unwise overtaking manouvre. He ended up hitting a keep-left bollard and ricocheting into a woman with a pushchair, who was crossing the road.
  • Honda Accord UK (2003 - 2008) - Honda Accord 2.4i EX Auto driving experiences 10 May 2009 (Forum)
My wife would like an Auto I've recently test driven a 2.4 EX auto accord (outgoing model) and on the surface my problems are solved, however, I'm worried that the 2.4 feels gutless on the motorway by comparison and I've read stuff that seems to imply that the EX comes with a sports suspension, although the EX definitely felt softer on a test drive. Has anyone had any experience of drive a 2.4i EX auto on the motorway for extended periods of time. Does it end up feeling like hard work because the 2.4 needs to be reved? I know the answer to a lot of this is to test drive the car and I have done that but I'm still undecided and would like to hear from 2.4 EX auto drivers.
