Update on Supermarket fuel 22 May 2006 (Forum)

He also explained that when given an order number nowadays you punch this into some device at the loading bay and you know that additives are being injected into the fuel tanker by certain coloured lights on a panel which indicates diesel, petrol, grade etc. and additives. -

Cheaper petrol 30 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Shell garage on A417 near Fairford, Gloucestershire is down to 84.9 for unleaded and 90.9 for diesel. Seems nuts to put supermarket fuel in your tank when this Shell outlet can price match. Visit outside rush-hour when the queues have gone. -

A Tesco filling station whose customers reported engine problems after they bought diesel is to remain closed. A number of vehicles broke down shortly after filling up at the station in Branksome, Poole, Dorset, on 18 September. enhancing the lubricity of diesel 17 Nov 2010 (Forum)
Seeing as some of the long-running horror stories seem to concentrate on the use of "contaminated fuel" or supermarket-grade fuel - I wonder if there is a product on the market that can be added to diesel to provide additional lubricity? I can't imagine the raw materials would cost a fortune...... Or are there any DIY alternatives? -
Fifth Gear: 'cooking' versus premium diesel 14 Oct 2011 (Forum)
This passed me by at the time, so apologies if it's been covered before: here's a link to Fifth Gear's test of V-Power and Ultimate diesel versus ordinary supermarket stuff, using a newish Citroen C5 2.2 as the testbed (4 minute video clip). Both the premium fuels gave 161bhp compared with 155 on the ordinary stuff. What WAS upsetting was that V-Power and Ultimate were 100.9 pence per litre at the time :-/ Diesel price and Haulage firms 22 May 2023 (Forum)
Personally , I just feel that we are been exploited by the supermarkets etc -
Any - Costco Fuel 29 Sep 2019 (Forum)
Not wanting to start another supermarket vs branded fuel debate, but I’ve just fuelled up at Costco for 123.7 per litre for their Premium Diesel. I’ve no idea if there is a legal definition of what is premium so far as fuel is concerned, but it’s still 4p per litre cheaper than my regular Tesco diesel.
