What's causing my Mondeo diesel to hesitate momentarily?

I have noticed while travelling between 50-70 mph that the engine of my Mondeo 1.6 TDCI seems to hesitate or cut-out momentarily, and then cut back in immediately without any dashboard indication. What could cause this? This has happened three times in about six months. I purchase my diesel from one supplier: Morrisons supermarket.

It might be the DPF passively regenerating. Otherwise, it could be the effect of the moisture in the biofuel element of the diesel. Switch to Shell V-Power Nitro Plus diesel. That should get rid of your problem and the improvement in mpg pays the extra cost of the fuel. I did 10,000 miles on this fuel in this engine between 2010 and 2011.
