Is using premium diesel causing an EGR valve problem on my 2001 Skoda Octavia?

For the last 30,000 miles I've run my 2001 Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI with 110,000 miles mainly on Shell V-Power diesel. Having done a fairly fast run down the motorway and left it parked overnight, the next morning I took it up to about 3500 rpm in second and third gear within the first mile of running. At that point it seemed to just stop wanting to rev. After this happened the first time (during the last very cold winter), I took it into a garage. They said the EGR valve was sticking and replaced it. Next morning, there was no change. I did a 200-mile run, left it for a few hours and it came back all okay. It's continued to run normally until this week, when it happened again. On both occasions it seems to have happened after part-filling with "ordinary" diesel fuel. Coincidence?

I'd guess that the EGR is gumming up too readily due to an excess of crankcase fumes for some other reason. It's getting old. The injectors on TDI 110s tend to need replacing at this sort of mileage.
