  Hi, I'm just about to purchase a new Mazda 3 and have the option of having an official Mazda lowering suspension kit fitted prior to delivery. By official, I mean that it is fitted by the factory or the dealer as an option/accessory and that the kit is not an aftermarket purchase or fitment.

  Can any one provide a definitive 'yes' or 'no' answer on whether the Mazda 323 (year of manufacture 2001) has a belt or chain driven camshaft on the 1.6 engine? It's my understanding that the 1.6 engine in the new mazda3 is chain driven and was wondering if this is the case with the 1.6 engine in the proceding 323 model.

  There has been times in previous threads where I have remarked how much of a shame it is that Mazda, once the purveyors of the most powerful hot hatch you could buy (the 3 MPS with 256bhp), no longer offer anything more than a ‘warm’ hatch, the 180PS version of the current 3.  But browsing on YouTube earlier, I came upon a video clip with 2021 Mazda 3 turbo in the title.

  My husband has just bought a Mazda 6 on an '05 plate (two months ago now) which was supposed to have a 3 month warranty. Five weeks after he bought it on the 4th March the engine went and we have since had it stripped down and examined.

  Basically the compressor seems to be engaging and disengaging all the time but it gets disengaged for a very long time when the weather gets hot e.g. during summer days. I asked the mazda dealer in Godalming to check the AC when I took it for a comprehensive service. They didn't have a clue (yes supposed to be mazda specialist!!  www.guildford-mazda.co.uk/ ) and for the money that they charged me for the service to say that oh we put thermometer in the car and didn't find any fault, is just outragous.

  I asked Mike how many of these does he have to repair and his repsonse was alarming. At one point it was 60 pumps a week. Amazing how mazda still refuse to except there was a problem with the pumps. Most pumps would fail outside of the warranty meaning Mazda rarly had to cough up. I travel to Feathers in the moring to have this work carried out so i will reply back and let you all know how i get on.

  The dealer asked for the opportunity to check the car over before any exchange of merchandise would be considered. The day after the car was booked in Mazda released a Technical Bulletin stating the symptoms above, and recommend replacing the air flow meter. The tech at Mazda showed me the bulletin and explained what was proposed as a workaround. Mazda recommend replacing the air flow sensor and the pipe which connects to the rocker cover vent.

  Some research on the net re-assured me it was just the service interval, BUT, I could find no way of resetting it without a Mazda specific computer ( Can not be done with an ODBII reader as it isn't a "Fault" ). I could see the sevice interval on my ELM327 based service tool but couldn't reset it. There are a couple of Web pages on the net re: resetting Mazda 6, and Mazda 5 cars, and by amalgamating the info from these, plus some guess work, I eventually managed to reset the service counter.

  Hello all, Thank you in advance for any information. I've looked at two mazda 323, both 2002 models. One is 1.6GXI and another is 1.6GSI. Both cars have done around 60k miles, but the GXI lower spec is private and the GSI higher spec is through a dealer. The 1.6GXI private sale has had a new clutch, timing belt, waterpump and seems to have the last few years' receipts available at the least, maybe more to be dug out of a loft.
