Windscreen Smears 10 Feb 2006 (Forum)
Whats the best way of making your windscreen smear-free ? I understand that a lot of the smears are due to tiny quantities of unburnt diesel fuel mixed in with the turbulent air on motorways, so how is this best dealt with. -
Condensation 25 Nov 2005 (Forum)
As it's that time of year again (the one where you sometimes need windscreen wipers on the inside of the windows as well and it is really unpleasant when you have to use deicer on the inside of the windscreen too) has anyone ever used a de humidifier (chemically based) for the inside of their car? -

Toyota Prius II (2003 - 2008) - 08 1.5 heated outside rear view mirrors 26 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Model T-Spirit. Can anyone help me determine (a) whether I do have heated rear view mirrors and (b) how to discover if they are operational? Yesterday they remained fogged up despite the rear screen heater being on and it was visibly working. If heated mirrors are fitted (to "some cars" as per the Owner's manual) then the rear view mirrors are heated when the rear screen heater element is switched on. -

Landrover Discover 5 HSE Luxury 3 years - Windscreen sealant failure - serious leak 4 Dec 2023 (Forum)
I own a Landrover Discovery HSE Luxury (69 plate) which I have owned for 2 1/2 years and purchased an extended Landrover warranty in September 2022 as it reached 3 years old. The windscreen sealant failed in April of this year causing water to leak badly into the car every time it rains. I reported it straight away to my LR dealer (Hendy) in Southampton. They spoke to LR and a claim was authorised and a new windscreen ordered in April 2023. -

What happened to the Astra panoramic windscreen that received lots of TV advertising a few months ago? I haven't noticed a single one. -

Volkswagen Polo is wearing brake discs and pads very rapidly - why? 1 Jul 2012 (Ask HJ)

telepeage 11 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Following instructions elsewhere on this forum I bought into this system over the new year and tested it for the first time last week on first trip of the year to France. Stuck to windscreen in front of the rear view mirror and it worked brilliantly. The stories that you can drive up to the barrier at 50 mph are not true - it did open automatically but I was in second gear and it only opened when I got to within 10m. -
Clio Mk2 Bonnet Problem 24 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I sat with mounting horror trying to imagine the scenario presented on the programme, namely that at high speeds it is possible for the bonnet to fly open without warning and for it to smash the windscreen and block your front view. The programme mentioned that Clio drivers could assume that they have fully closed the bonnet, but that the catch can get stuck in the open position. Is this something I should be concerned about and if so, should I contact renault? -
drivers door window tint madness 7 Jan 2005 (Forum)
It must be worse for cyclists - you rely on eye contact to confirm that you've been seen. only a matter of time before they tint the front windscreen and finish the job. John of Rotherham -
Windscreen obscured - not just tax disc 19 Jul 2007 (Forum)
That small higher one had me forever wondering where that low-flying aircraft had gone just after I'd seen it out of the corner of my eye. Grrrrr.... The new windscreen has the same two obstructions and maybe even a little bigger this time. It must be the UK's way of getting the wrong end of manufacturer's cost cutting. We don't get RHD screens. On LHD cars the symbols would be a long way away from the driver's usual line of sight and one of them at least covered by a tax disc or similar. -
Subaru Impreza II fl 2 (2006 - 2007) - OE windscreen replacement 26 Feb 2008 (Forum)
A big stone hit the Impreza windscreen this morning and put a crack in it. Since the car is less than 6 months old I am keen to ensure that it is replaced only with an OE "Nippon Safety" windscreen. Obviously the insurers will want to push me to use Autoglass, who will probably fit a non-OE item. -
