  When they swipe down it leaves a mist which you can hardly see out of when it's dark When the windscreen wipers are on intermitent as above. when they mist up on the swipe down, as soon as it is inbetween wipes the screen clears really fast. Thanks for any replies. I have tried cleaning with meths and white spirits but I am also getting this (this isnt my car but just to show)   A9xKJiz.jpg            
• Ford Focus Mk3 - Leaking windscreen 2 Jul 2014 (Forum)
  Just bought a 1 year old Mk3 focus that I've found has a leak from the top of the windscreen 4 inches to the left of the rear view mirror. Returned it to the main Ford agent where I bought the car from who can't find the leak. It's going in next week for 2 days for a "full water test" although I've got a feeling that they either won't or won't admit to finding anything.
• Golf Mk III: cracked windscreen corner 2 Jan 2006 (Forum)
  A curved crack about 2.5" long has appeared across the lower offside corner of the windscreen on my 1996 Mk III Golf VR6. It's in the coloured area below the level where it would be a problem in terms of visibility. However, I wonder if it is a common weakness and how it could have happened (the car has a gentle life), there being no sign of external impact and I think it's only the outer glass that's cracked.

  Some detective work with a watering can revealed the problem. What is happening is rain flows down the windscreen, then down the wing rain channels (the bits you see when the bonnet is up), then towards the front of the wing and drips down and collects, trapped in the wing. The shape of the metal at that point does not allow the rain to drain away so it sits.

  Tuesday evening, M25 anti-clock near Rickmansworth . I am passed in lane 3 by a Focus doing estimated 80-90 , tailgating a van in front. Sadly, that's common . But to my amazement I thought I saw a child in the front . Further on trafiic slowed and I came alongside the Focus .Man driving, woman front seat passenger .STANDING in the front footwell facing the woman, a boy about 6-7 years old.
• Subaru Legacy and Outback Petrol (2004 - 2009) - Replacement windscreen problem 17 Feb 2009 (Forum)
  The rubber strip around the windscreen now has a ridge with stands proud of the windscreen and surrounding metalwork by about 7mm. The rubber doesn't actually reach the metalwork in the top corners. I'm sure that wind noise has increased noticeably.

  Just looked round the Vitaras at a local Suzuki dealer as the wife is looking for a new car. Several of the ones with sunroofs were quite badly misted up inside. The non sunroof cars weren’t. All the cars looked like they had been recently washed. Does anyone have any similar experience - or ideally a completely different one?

  Yesterday, in common with a great many people, I shifted about 3" of snow from the roof and windows of my car using a clean brush (ex dustpan and brush set from the kitchen). Somehow and annoyingly the sliding down of the snow on the windscreen has produced a near vertical light scratch in the glass, fortunately near the passenger's eyeline.

  But some windscreen companies, including Autoglass, say this is not neccessary, simply aim the camera at a static target. Where it gets a bit murky though, is that for this method to work properly, apparently the tyre pressures and wheel alignment need to be spot on, and the car needs to be on a smooth flat and level surface.

  A few thoughts about windscreen washers: Not many people realise that it is illegal to be driving a car without washer fluid in the reservoir. However, apart from staying legal, you really don't want yourself suddenly needing to be able to clear your screen and finding that your windscreen washer is empty.
