  Hi i'm new to this site but was recommended by a friend I have a problem with my car it has been running fine since i bought it about 2 months ago but i went to start it this morning and it wouldn't. I know this sounds daft but i have tried putting more petrol init as it was quite low but that didn't work it sounds similar to the battery being flat so i tried jumpleads but that didnt work, any ideas on what it could be. i would be gratefull for any help.

  hi Car suddenly quit. left it with local garage who Changed the following: Coil pack Leads plugs These had no effect at all, The mechanic said he disconnected the leads on 1 and 4 whilst running and there is no difference. His computer apparently said feed 1 and feed 2 at coil not present. he did not give me codes. I have now left it at another garage as they told me they couldnt do much with it as it is a electrical problem.

  Like how come I run a TDI Galaxy to 206,000 Origionally on tractor oil being Case No1, changed every 5000k, with proper Knect filter then somewhere about 100,000 miles changed to semi synthetic, no particular brand, bought at random, to VW spec from motor Factors & changed every 10,000, with filter as above( maybe a Framm filter bytimes) Its a 110 tweeked to 125bhp i am diligent about checking the dipstick and topping up A wee drip due to a crankshaft oil seal Origional injectors & head gasket & exhaust too OK #Back to polishing my Halo

  I'm sure my windscreen no longer gets caked in flies after a fast run like it used to. This begs a few questions: Are there fewer flies around, and if so, why is this? Or are there the same number of flies, but fewer hitting my car? Cars are more aerodynamic and wipers are more efficient than ever, so you might not notice flies so much.

  One of the cooling fans on my 1996 405 TD is running constantly with the ignition on. The guy i bought from said his mechanic rewired it like that as the previous engine had overheated. I have checked the 3 relays and all the wiring is intact and doesn't look like it's been touched.

  the ball flies through the air and lands , with a huge thud, on the car's front NS wing, leaving a ball-sized dent. Ref blows for full time. Ouch... Nobody came running Subject header given a less vague title, and one that doesn't upset the swear filter
• Ford Mondeo II (1996 - 2000) - 00 1.8 zetec black top lost power 3 Sep 2009 (Forum)
  V reg Mondeo with 90K miles on the clock has suddenly lost power. It starts OK and doesn't run rough but will not rev freely and struggles to get past 70. All fluids etc are OK and no obvious faults or noises. Anyone else have this problem, know the cure? My thoughts are either (god forbid) cam belt has slipped a tooth or the Mass air sensor is shot.

  The original problem was that the heater/aircon fan continued running after the engine was switched off, eventually flattening the battery. The garage's (Vauxhall dealer) reponse was to replace the air conditioning control unit. This did not cure the problem and introduced a new fault - the airflow is now wrongly directed, for example I have to select the windscreen vents to get air to come out of the fascia vents.

  Travelling on motorway at around 80, car started snaking, no trailer, lasted around 3 or 4 seconds, braked gently, and slowed to 60, all ok. This was at the end of a long run 400 miles, previously car had been wandering slightly. Turns out there was too much pressure in front drivers side tyre 35 pounds when should have been 30. Could this have been cause or should I be looking for something else?

  It has 4 speed auto gearbox: done 60,000 miles and has reasonable service history. I've had the car 2 weeks, and after a long run, noticed a hot oil smell coming from the offside front of car. Opening the bonnet, and checking carefully with torch etc. the engine, gearbox and surrounding areas are clean - no sign of oil. Following my nose, the area where the smell seems to come from is around the radiator.

  Hope you can help, When driving in second,third or fourth gear, the revs drop as if there is no fuel getting to the engine, this also happens when you go to stop the car and put your foot on the clutch the revs drop to around 500 and then picks back up..I have changed the fuel filter. It just feels as if the petrol tank is empty or is about to run out of petrol...Just a thought when the spluttering is going on if you change gear up or down then the engine picks up fine... Thanks

  I have recently solved this problem with my car radio by getting a cable from the UK agents of it`s manufacturer. AFAIK,your radio needsto have an auxillary socket at the rear.This is normaly used to run a CD changer. If it does not have this Aux facility then it`s much more difficult. Try going to the ICE section of the Toyota Forum for advice,or try e-bay where they have dozens of this type of connectors.My cable cost £8 and works well.

  I tried taking power direct to it from battery (with engine OFF) but couldn't detect any noise of internal clutch engaging. Or would this ONLY occur when engine running? ta Kester

  Hi folks, recently bought 2.0 mondeo, duratec engine It will hardly rev out past 4000rpm. changed plugs & ht leads but no improvement. Could it be a faulty sensor? runs sweet as a nut apart from this, couple of times the 'fault' has cleared itself and acceleration was brilliant but then it was back to pathetic. Returns 35mpg on mix of town and open roads so thinking it should not be a serious fault.

  All fine except on bonnet and lower wheel arch where they are are covered in little black dots. I can feel them if I run my finder over them but they would shift even with hard rubbing.   My daughter in law has 97 Fiesta 1.25 which appears to have an on-going fuel pump problem viz. no sound of it running when ignition is switched on & no pressure at test valve with ignition on. The AA have been called to it about 3 times and each time it has been taken to a garage for repair. Once she was charged for a new pump which was later disputed by the AA on a subsequent call out.

  Ford Ka 53 reg 1.3 duratec engine. Its running rough at idle, and juddery at take off, but ok once driving . Today I tried to remove the idle control valve for cleaning and refitting. I took off the air filter assembly and the throttle assembly... still could not get at it.. do I need to remove the inlet manifold to get at it.. this looks like its a big job for me.. surely it must be easier than that.. cheers...

  My car is misfiring (like its running on 3 cylinders) when accelerating and seems to get worst when the car warms up. It only does it up to around 2000 revs and then above that seems ok. I have had the fuel filter replaced, Spark plugs replaced and Cam shaft sensor replaced but still doing the same and seems to be getting worst.

  Friend of mine reports "something in the engine affecting the steering (pulling to the left and vibrating through the steering wheel but when I put it in neutral or put the clutch in it went away Went into garage and it stopped after a while and they put an engine flush through it and have recommended some nice expensive petrol and a good long run" I cannot see any link between the symptoms, particularly the pulling to the left. Is this traditional power steering or electrical. Ideas?? Suspect it was a misfire and then imagination, but is this sounding any bells with anyone
