  Having trouble with my 2000X 306 1.4 (45,000miles) Both problems may be related: One is that the car is running hot very early. Turning on the rear heated windscreen makes the temperature gauge shoot up nearly to red from 90. Turn it off and it drops immediately. I am not sure whether this has anything to do with the wire that has appeared in the footwell at the drivers side.

  It has 3 owners from new, FSH with receipts from the last 10 years, and has covered 70,000 miles. It's in very good condition but the aircon isn't very cold. It doesn't have a heated windscreen, colour is a metallic orange/red. Three weeks ago WBAC offered £595, last week that increased to £650. I was thinking of advertising at £950 but am now wondering if I should be asking more?

I have taken off plastic trims around the headlights, removed a front spoiler but now want to replace blacked out windows.   So, I drive out to meet some friends on Saturday, rant at them about this scratch on the driver's side - it was a bright sunny day with clear blue sky - then drive home, parked car in drive again, did not look at it on Sunday but got in the car yesterday to go to a meeting and right in front of my driver's view was an almost identical scratch, albeit it feinter and thinner, on the driver's side of the windscreen directly in front of the steering wheel.

  Looking to buy a car fitted with a panoramic sunroof. It is a sunroof that goes from the windscreen to the back of the car.   Well, now that we've got a bit of respite from the damp, grey, blustery weather and are enjoying a snap of 'proper winter, I thought that I'd start a thread of cold weather driving. This year, I've started using the hot water on the windscreen de-icing trick. Fantastic! Thermos of hot water all over the windscreen and rear window, jump in and find  that the heat has already demisted the inside. Crank and go. No scraping, spraying aerosols, idling for ages with  the fan blowing cold air all over the place.

   My 2002 C3 has been almost problem-free until this Spring when the front windscreen wipers failed. Then we had a cracked windscreen, followed by a stress-cracked windscreen 3 days after the original replacement. The second replacement took place in rain and a strong wind.
