  • Ford Focus Mk 2 Petrol - Could this be an electrical problem? 18 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Hi On Wednesday I began to experience the following problems: - engine warning light on - external temperature guage not working (just showing as -- -- ) - cold weather warning light on (red) - rear windscreen wiper not working - front windscreen washers not working Yesterday I noticed a front bulb is also out.. unsure if it has been out since Wednesday. Fuel consumption seemed fine until a friend asked about it... now think it is going down quicker but maybe just mind playing tricks.
  • Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 97 Water getting in 19 Jan 2010 (Forum)
My wife owns a R registered Ford Fiesta Ghia with only 50,000 miles on the clock. Excellent car and she does not want to scrap it out!! BUT ...... it keeps filling up with water!!! It seems that a design fault on this model means that water that goes down the gully in front of the windscreen cannot get out via the drain holes and when heavy rain is experienced overflows into the car soaking the front carpets.
  • Windscreen + Glass - Enhanced Driving Visibility 29 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Some wag once wrote in HJ section of Telegraph suggesting toothpaste to clean windscreens and I was dumb enough to try it (not with a toothbrush though). HJ's slot has over the years repeated tips for car body wash+wax and favoured (best?) brand, but little or on the most important bit - the windscreen.
  • Volkswagen Passat (2001 - 2005) - 2002 1.9TDI Temperature reading zero & no heating 29 May 2008 (Forum)
I have a 2002 VW Passat TDI (130bhp) I noticed on the drive home tonight that the temperature gauge was reading zero. I immediately checked whether the heating worked. It doesn't. The air is cool at best and on auto (climatronic) the front vents are pumping no air at all. I have checked the coolant level and that all seems fine. Any ideas please?
  • VW Golf 1.9 TDI 1999 - rear window leakage, no elec windows/central lock 19 Apr 2011 (Forum)
It has been like this for a week now and i got my mate to look at it and he did some tests. He checked the windscreen wash and noticed it was getting low so he topped it up and checked the front windscreen was wipers and they was fine however the rear wiper works but no fluid. i noticed a bit of the fluid on the floor from under the bonnet but i saw him spill some so just ignored it until today i tried it again and then the car now says no windscreen fluid, under the bonnet was heaps of the liquid.

CD / XS / SE? We currently run a Subaru Forester 2.0 AWD GLS with the All Weather pack (heated front seats, heated front screen e.t.c) which will have to go as it's a bit too thirsty but we still want to retain some of the luxuries that we've had for the past 3.5 years we've had the Forester.

  • Bugs on front of car 12 Jun 2005 (Forum)
My local radio station has a phone in every morning on things to "help the listeners". The other day there, it was how to shift dead bugs off the windscreen, front of car etc. Usual ideas inc vinegar and newspaper on windows, off the shelf bug killers etc. However, one person said that when going on long journey, they just smear front of car with a Vaseline type jelly and then hose off at the end of journey.
  • Focus TDdi owners ................... 11 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Hi chaps, I'm need someone who has a Focus Mk2 TDdi with a heated front screen to have a look in their under bonnet fuse box for me please as I need to clarify an ambiguity. I need you to look & see if your car if fitted with relay K84. For some reason Ford have chosen to label this as R13 in the fuse box lid - it has an engine symbol on it.

  • mk2 mondeo heated screen 27 Dec 2006 (Forum)
I seem to have the opposite problem to most people with Ford heated screens - mine works when I don't want it to! On engine starting, the indicator light for the front screen lights up for about 5 minutes - as if I have pressed it. It hasn't been cold enough for me to tell whether the screen is actually on, or if the problem is just with the switch indicator.

Websites that sell them dont give very good info, and dont respond to emails[/b] Possibly insulation problems causing damp? what should I look for?? There is whistling sound on the passenger front door after 50mph, like the window insulation has a gap. Heating works better on the passenger side than the driver side. on full heat it is only slightly warm, with a little cold coming through, whereas on the left it feels how it should, fully hot.

  • N/A - overheating discs 22 Jul 2019 (Forum)
I believe that most drivers are inclined to sit on the brakes so why is the problem not  widespread? HJ advises to use the cars hand brake or hold system as the rear brakes do not heat up as much as the fronts.  However the owner has also had the rears replaced under warranty! As the car is obviously a performance car surely the brakes should be up to the job and not be giving the owner grief.
  • Peugeot 406 - heated seats and cambelt 23 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Hi I have recently acquired a Pug 406 2 litre turbo and am well pleased with the car. There is only one seemingly minor fault... the heated front seats. The controls are by the handbrake, and when I press them they light up but the seats do not get warm. There isnt much information in the handbook, but I was wondering whether or not anyone else has this problem/knows a fix?
