BMW E21 - distributor and poor running 30 Jun 2007 (Forum)
do you think it?s possible that this closeness (probably only 5mm) between the metal surround of the cap and the leads is leading to the bad running? Any thoughts at all would be really appreciated ? I?m deeply confused? Many thanks! James {Subject header amended to include car details - DD} -
Motorway slip road 18 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Ever since the M56 was opened, I've wondered about this particular feature. Between the A556 and the M6 junctions, on the westbound track there is a small ' slip road ' leading up off the hard shoulder to a wooden ' farm ' type gate. There is also a slip on from this gate. In all my hundreds of trips up and down this stretch, I've never seen this gate open or in use. The gate leads into a very minor lane, not important enough to have a bridge or a tunnel across the M way. -

Nissan Primera P10 bulb replacement 24 Mar 2005 (Forum)
I am replacing a headlamp bulb on my 96 Primera. Mr Hayne's manual advises me to disconnect the negative battery lead before proceeding. Two questions. One What am I risking if I don't disconnect the battery lead? Two. Will I need to input the radio security code if I do disconnect. The code may be hard/impossible to find. -

Suzuki T250 motorbike - Suzuki motorbike coil to HT cable connection 5 Sep 2021 (Forum)
I posted this in the bikers section, but there does not seem to be much trafiic there, so thought I would try here too. Please does anyone know whether the HT leads can be simply unscrewed from the coils on this bike. The old ones have been cut off halfway to the plug cap, so an extension will be needed if the original leads cannot be disconnected from the coils. -

You, experiences, leading or trailing edge? Cars 14 Dec 2007 (Forum)

bmw 120d - BMW 120d '04 shorted out? 27 Mar 2012 (Forum)
In a nutshell, while in the process of jump starting my 330i, I inadvertently touched the jump leads together while the leads were connected to my wifes 120d. It was connected in the boot direct to the battery. The car cut out and now wont start, it just cranks over and some warning lights have appeared on the dash. -
Vauxhall Vectra C - fuel return pipe? 22 Mar 2011 (Forum)
hi, i have a vectra 2.2 sri direct. could anyone tell me if the pipe that leads from the fuel pressure regulator to the cam driven high powered pump is in fact the return pipe, as described in the haynes manual, or is it the feed to the pump? the only other pipe from the pump is a metal one which leads into the injector rail, so by deduction the so called 'return pipe' must be the fuel line into the pump surely? -

Jump start box 19 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Maplin currently have an 'Emergency Jumpstart and 12V Power Supply' unit (essentially a 12V 17Ah battery in a box) for £20, and since it also contains a compressor, thus removing the annoying part where you have to trail the lead around the car from the lighter socket, I wondered if it was worth having. The battery alone is probably worth the price, but a lot depends on the implementation - are the leads long/thick enough, does the compressor shift any air, etc? -
Confusing electric wire - vw transporter 1 May 2007 (Forum)

306 TD Clutch Cable 2 Feb 2003 (Forum)
I've got used to it now, but have since heard that there's a problem with the cable drying out, preventing the automatic adjustment from functioning, leading to premature clutch wear and failure. Is there any way of knowing whether this is happening other than a slightly stiff clutch pedal? I'd like to get it sorted sooner rather than later if it might lead to a £300 bill. -
