Suzuki T250 motorbike - Suzuki motorbike coil to HT cable connection 5 Sep 2021 (Forum)
I posted this in the bikers section, but there does not seem to be much trafiic there, so thought I would try here too. Please does anyone know whether the HT leads can be simply unscrewed from the coils on this bike. The old ones have been cut off halfway to the plug cap, so an extension will be needed if the original leads cannot be disconnected from the coils. -

You, experiences, leading or trailing edge? Cars 14 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Are you `leading or trailing edge` re cars and in general, why? In other words, do you buy the new models straight off the production line or wait and buy later? What life experiences shaped your stance on this? -
bmw 120d - BMW 120d '04 shorted out? 27 Mar 2012 (Forum)
In a nutshell, while in the process of jump starting my 330i, I inadvertently touched the jump leads together while the leads were connected to my wifes 120d. It was connected in the boot direct to the battery. The car cut out and now wont start, it just cranks over and some warning lights have appeared on the dash. -
Vauxhall Vectra C - fuel return pipe? 22 Mar 2011 (Forum)
hi, i have a vectra 2.2 sri direct. could anyone tell me if the pipe that leads from the fuel pressure regulator to the cam driven high powered pump is in fact the return pipe, as described in the haynes manual, or is it the feed to the pump? the only other pipe from the pump is a metal one which leads into the injector rail, so by deduction the so called 'return pipe' must be the fuel line into the pump surely? -

Jump start box 19 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Maplin currently have an 'Emergency Jumpstart and 12V Power Supply' unit (essentially a 12V 17Ah battery in a box) for £20, and since it also contains a compressor, thus removing the annoying part where you have to trail the lead around the car from the lighter socket, I wondered if it was worth having. The battery alone is probably worth the price, but a lot depends on the implementation - are the leads long/thick enough, does the compressor shift any air, etc? -
Confusing electric wire - vw transporter 1 May 2007 (Forum)

306 TD Clutch Cable 2 Feb 2003 (Forum)
I've got used to it now, but have since heard that there's a problem with the cable drying out, preventing the automatic adjustment from functioning, leading to premature clutch wear and failure. Is there any way of knowing whether this is happening other than a slightly stiff clutch pedal? I'd like to get it sorted sooner rather than later if it might lead to a £300 bill. -

Audi A3, 1.6l, 2010 - Audi A3 doesn't start sometimes 21 Aug 2022 (Forum)
Which took few times to start the car, after 5 -6 times the car started. Then it was ok for a few days. It easy starts with jump leads, but with battery boost leads takes few min, few times to crank the car. * When it's not starting the engine cranking, but no start. Jump leads, no problem. * I found bad cigarette lighter fuse. -

1988 golf 1.3 electrical fault 10 Dec 2006 (Forum)
I know what the problem is, but not the remedy. When this happens the car has no spark, so every time when this happens I disconnect the HT lead from the distributor and earth that end of the lead to the engine block. I leave the other end connected to the coil and turn the ignition key to see if there is a spark produced by the coil. (note I don't turn the engine over I just turn the ignition on and off) to see if there is any current coming from the coil. -

Ford Fiesta - 2003 Fiesta Zetec misfire - water in plug chamber 6 Oct 2012 (Forum)
Plenty of results of internet searches about this seemingly common problem. Took off a plug lead and one side of the plug chamber had half a thimblefull of water in it. Plugs had tracking marks, diagnostic said misfire cylinder 1. Cleaned all out, cleaned leads, replaced plugs. A few weeks later, the fault is back, this time the water in the other chamber. -
Ford Focus 1999 1.6 Ghia - Firing on 3 cylinders (I think!!) 26 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Hello, my brothers Focus suddenly started firing on 3 cylinders. Thats how it seems anyway. Plugs, leads, coil-pack all replaced (they were over-due anyway) still the same :( I tried to identify which cylinder wasn't firing by removing a lead at a time so when I removed the lead on the cylinder that was at fault there would be no difference in tick over. -
Volkswagen Polo III (1994 - 1999) - 96 1.4 Lumpy running 13 Jan 2009 (Forum)
My next line of enquiry will be to take the plugs out and check them to see if they are sparking. The only thing bothering me is I seem to recall that using jump leads on the car could sometime cause the electronic 'brain' to stop working properly. Is this likely and if so would it not just stop working all together rather than just on a few cylinders? What's more likely plugs, leads or something else? -
How to Cut Fuel Prices 4 May 2002 (Forum)
No one needs to stop buying fuel. All we need to do is collectively boycott the service stations of the two leading oil companies and buy our fuel from their competitors. Faced with a near total collective boycott of their product, the two leading oil companies will have no alternative but to cut prices, which in turn will lead to a price war, which in turn will pull retail prices back under 70p a litre.
