• 2009 Ford Ka - Heated windscreen failure 22 Feb 2013 (Forum)
  The left hand half of my heated windescreen has failed, a few weeks out of warranty! The heated area is in two halves but there is only one fuse. As there are no "Moving parts" and nothing has been moved  or worked on in the area of the dash/switches or the screen I am at a loss to know what else I can check.

  I have recently purchased a 1.8 Zetec, its great but the heated rear screen (and mirrors) won't heat. When I press the button the light comes on but goes off straight away.   Now the weather is better it's tempting to have windows open, and the heating system switched off. When I came home yesterday, using a dual carriageway near Northampton the moron in front threw out a cigarette, which bounced and then smacked into my windscreen, going, I think, over the top.

  Got viciously attacked by a stone on the m/way yesterday, leaving me with a large crack in my windscreen. Cars being what they are today, it's laminated ,heat reflecting glass with light and wiper sensors installed. The car is only two years old and I'd like to get it done through a Peugeot dealer, so there can be do arguments about honouring the warranty if problems arise.

  Has anyone who has driven a Ford Focus II experienced additional dazzle/glare from others vehicles head lights/fog lights and street lighting as a result of the heating element inside the Quickclear windscreen ? Does this happen with other Ford models that are fitted with the Quickclear windscreen ? I have experienced no such problem whilst driving Focus's without the Quickclear windscreen.

  However because of a tiny stone chip ( not near the element) they thought Ford would refuse it and I had to go through a rigmarole of speaking to Ford customer service, getting photos of the windscreen, etc. Now the Ford dealer has realised the screen is not a Ford screen.Presumably it was replaced during the first few months and the windscreen co fitted a Pilkingtons, not Ford, screen.
