Jaguar X-Type 2.0d 2004 - Power Steering Problems 3 May 2017 (Forum)
Return trip is 600 miles plus some local running about. Last Monday morning on trip up I pulled into services parking after about 200 miles of running at 60-70 ish. Fairly hard left lock into parking space. Heard (but may have imagined) a bit of a clunk and steering was tremendously heavy. Managed to park. Tried steering, it took both hands same side of steering wheel and much effort to turm wheel, big vibrations through steering wheel. -

EU cars/drivers in UK post Brexit - any idea? 22 Mar 2019 (Forum)
There is also a fairly tolerant attitude towards foreign drivers with non-adjusted headlight beams, lack of nationality stickers and so on. And of course, parking fines are rarely followed up. As I said, just wondering... What do backroomers think should happen? (Ducks under parapet as gunfire begins!) -
Volkswagen Golf V TDI - VW MK5 Golf Won't Start! 9 Oct 2015 (Forum)
I've had a look at online forums but can't get anything specific to focus on, also I may add that the dash is completely out, the lights won't come on at all, the headlights, interior lights, radio etc still work though. Already checked fuses and they are all working fine, I'm baffled, any help is greatly appreciated, thanks! -

Reversed on to pavement into a signpost (flattened post) when in a flap trying to park in angled space on main street. Free Tickets to Santa Pod Flame & Thunder Day 4 Nov 2009 (Forum)
I wonder if they still set of the large firework right at the end that sets 99% of the car alarms off in the parking area? Finally, take something warm to wrap up in. It was fine while the sun was out, but as soon as it started going down, so did the temperature. Brrrrr. -
Vauxhall Astra F (1991 - 1998) - '97 1.7td Constantly flattening battery 18 Dec 2007 (Forum)
I replaced the standard battery with a heavy duty one last January, but it still struggles during the winter when starting from cold, especially if not used every day. Using through the week its fine, but Monday mornings its touch and go whether there is enough juice left to start it! I assume something is draining it when parked. Is it possible to disconnect or take fuse/relay out of the alarm circuit and still start the car? -
renault clio1995 - no spark 9 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Hi, My partner had trouble starting her Renault Clio 1.4 Auto a few weeks ago So I popped to the local halfords and bought a new set of plugs and leads, which i fitted in and it then started absolutly fine till yesterday when it left her stranded in a tesco car park. She called out the RAC who said there was no spark but managed to get it it going and suggested that the 'crank angle sensor' (which I must confess ive never heard of) may be on its way out and it would probably be a Renault dealer job to fix it. -
Help! Another problem with my Granada 18 Apr 2003 (Forum)
It was turning over healthily enough so there was plenty of charge, but it just wouldn't catch. I park with the front of the car up to some greenery, so I knocked it into 'R' to push it back to get to the engine, then back into 'P'. I tried it again, just out of curiosity and it burst into life! It's been fine since. -

Nissan Micra k13 2913 - DIY respray on all four corners of used car, why? 30 Mar 2024 (Forum)
Seller says it was his Dads who was military over there, and this explains the v low km for 11 yrs. Paperwork to prove it all fine. So the only theories I have are either 1) his old man was precious and liked to spray over little parking sc***es on the corners or 2) it got bashed about in transit ove to the mainland (Murcia). where I am about to purchase it now and his son has sprayed it on. -
Mazda 121 (1996 - 2000) - 96 1.3 - Intermittent Clutch 20 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Hi, If anyone can give any advice I'd be very grateful I have a 96 Mazda 121 (it's a rebadged Mk4 Fiesta) that has an intermittent clutch problem. Most time the car runs fine and gear changes are fine, easy and smooth, everything as normal. Sometimes, after the car is parked and turned off, when I start the car and press the clutch in, I can't select a gear. The pedal still presses and springs back but it's like pressing the pedal hasn't engaged the clutch at all and the gearstick won't slot into gear (any of them). -

2005 Ford Focus Ghia 2.0 - Ford Focus loss of power & engine warning light 29 Jan 2011 (Forum)
I took the car in the following morning - warning light still showing but by now the car was driving fine, until I got near the garage and it started going sluggish again. Diagnostics indicated an issue at the inlet manifold but the garage could find nothing wrong with the car, which by now was driving fine again, and all they could suggest was that I approach a main dealer if I wanted to investigate the issue further. -
