• Stick with Mazda or go BMW 6 Mar 2020 (Forum)
  BMW seems a bit nippier, even 320i, on paper at least, classier too. I haven’t test driven the Mazda yet, planning to do this weekend. Obviously I already own a Mazda, and I stopped using main dealers for servicing ages ago, and there are none close to my house any more. BMW dealers are closer, but there is also an independent specialist around 10 minutes walk from my house.

  I understand the low oil pressure light came on and she felt a distinctive clunk and loss of power when it did.  The dealer has advised the engine has been removed and they are involving mazda. I am a frequent lurker here and at other motoring sites and have been warning her about imminent dpf issues amongst other things, but she has always thought her driving style meant she would be safe from such issues.

  Finally took it to Mazda still nothing could be found, now the car is not starting and I feel i've put too much time and money into just selling as a non runner! But its proving to be almost impossible to find out whats actually the root of the problem!

  I have two cars 53 punto 8v and a 52 premacy, both mine from new. Problems with Fiat dealer, none, problem with Mazda car in garage since tuesday, leaking water after rain onto front passenger floor.Up to one inch in depth. This is the 3rd time it has been back. Left for two days because car was to be taken to another Mazda dealer, same company to get their expert with over 15 yrs experience, he will sort it out.

  Hello guys. I'll start from the beginning. I bought 2007 Mazda 6 GG with RF7J engine, 143ps. Car had problems when I bought it and it was in limp mode. Turns out, 1 injector was faulty, I fixed it and got rid of limp mode. Then I noticed that turbo was not working as it should have been, the issue was vacuum hose, which was broken and after fixing it, car was like new, it was running fast and smooth, no problems at all.

  This could be a bit of a long post but i will try to keep it as brief as i can. A couple of weeks ago my beloved Mazda 3 1.6ts diesel...died on the motorway    It was towed to a local independent garage, where £800 later the turbo was replaced, the dpf was filled with fluid and regenerated and oil + oil filter replaced.

  On Saturday I had a slightly worrying experience with my 2012 13k mile Mazda 3. Suddenly the engine maintainence light and ABS warning light came on and the car was barely drivable. Fortunately I was not on the motorway, as I had been earlier that day. I coaxed the car home and called out the breakdown folks, who arrived in an hour.

  Hello everyine, well I have been looking and reading on this forum for many months and have now decided to post, so a big heloo to everyone! :-) Well I know all the stories with Mazda 6's and their problems, just like many other cars. I've had my 2003 Mazda6 diesel 1-2 years now and have different things go wrong with it, more recently my starter was not engaging or squealing on the first turn of the key, however the car would start on the second or sometimes third turn of the key.

  Just been along to a well known car supermarket in west London, near to a certain public service broadcaster's headquarters, to view a nice looking 2006 Mazda 6 2.0 TS auto they had up on their website. 28k on the clock, verified. So far so good. Gave the car the once over and test drove it, all seemed to be in excellent order, but the sticker price still seemed good, even for this particular dealership.

  We're thinking of replacing the wife's Mazda Xedos 9, and having been very happy with Mazdas in general, we decided to have a test drive in a Mazda 6. This was my first test drive ever, and I was pleasantly surprised. No hassle, just show my licence, fill in a quick form and off we went without the salesman.

  I’ve looked on Mazda approved cars and would like to buy from them I but if I can get much more for my money would look else where…seen a couple of Mazda on there around 50k miles 2015-2016 for around £10k, does that sound reasonable?

  I recently purchased a 2017 Mazda3 2.2d Sport Nav, which is fantastic but very different from the VAG cars I've had in the past where there's lots of advice available. The car has only covered 47k (full Mazda SH) and is in good nick to be fair. I am experiencing a strange judder when pulling away in 1st gear; which seems to be less severe if I pick the revs up a little than I normally would. Initially it got me thinking DMF or clutch but I've spoken to several Mazda dealers who say it's extremely rare to see this in these cars, particularly at this mileage.

• Mazda 3 - AIR CONDITIONING 29 May 2012 (Forum)
  Basically the compressor seems to be engaging and disengaging all the time but it gets disengaged for a very long time when the weather gets hot e.g. during summer days. I asked the mazda dealer to check the AC when I took it for a comprehensive service. They didn't have a clue (yes supposed to be mazda specialist!!   and for the money that they charged me for the service to say that oh we put thermometer in the car and didn't find any fault, is just outragous.
• Diesel TS2 2005 - Mazda 6 -Limp Mode at idle constantly 1 Sep 2010 (Forum)
  Would be very grateful for an help or info into a problem that has persisted for the last year or more and cannot be solved. Mazda 6 diesel, common rail, no dpf. Car will start up, no lights and runs for about 30 seconds at idle, then it will suddenly throw itself into limp mode, running very roughly with the EML illuminated.

  SWMBO X reg Yaris 1.3SR is now due for renewal - so I spent this last week looking around and being a long term Mazda man - we ( I ) decided on Mazda 3 auto - ran down autotrader etc and gleaned prices of 06-07 -08 cars and prices - fine -- today we went to local Ford/Mazda dealer to look and in showroom was a unregistered 1.4 Fiesta Ghia petrol on offer for £9999 (pre facelift)- £3k off list (Yea) this car has everything but auto and heated seats but doing the sums it seems more practical to go for manual than auto and it's cheaper to run than Mazda.

  Front-page news in today's Times says that a US study has found that 'hi-viz jackets and reflective strips ... can make cyclists and pedestrians invisible to modern car safety systems'.  The vehicles tested were a Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5 and a Forester.  'Every time, the Honda and the Mazda hit a dummy with strips without slowing' - the Forester was rather better. Back to the drawing board ?
