  • Celeb Car Sightings 24 Aug 2007 (Forum)
t covered before where BRs can report the occasional sighting. Have been deliberately vague with the location below for purposes of the celeb?s privacy. Anyway, here goes: Sighted restaurateur and TV chef Rick Stein at an airport in the SW last night driving off in a rather nice 911 Carrera S. The Porsche was only spoilt slightly by a ding on the near side back wing.

  • Anyone stuck on the M11 last winter? 31 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Have a read: http://www.channel4.com/apps26/4car/jsp/main.jsp?lnk=211&id=6184 \"A report by MPs on last January\'s snow-induced gridlock blames the Highways Agency\'s contractors for not gritting roads early enough.\" So there we have it - last years error up was caused by privatising the gritting service !

  • What`s happened to Two Stroke Developmen 4 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Perhaps some of you petrol heads could tell me why there are no serious developments with 2 strokes. I know the barrier in the past was possibly horrendous...
  • Tyre advice please. 20 Apr 2002 (Forum)
I asked for prices for 4 tyres balanced, fitted with VAT and valves. They suggest ,for my old Maestro, either Firestone 590's £130(£120 at a push), or for £110 (£100 if I ask nicely) they'll fit Kumho's or Falcon 590's. Does anyone have experience of either the Kumho or the Falcon. I'd be pleased to hear of your views if you have.
  • Road Rage 11 Feb 2002 (Forum)
It has to be done as a wind-up because the damn things invariably slow to 40 mph and below as it's quite steep and when they evntually give up or get past the effect resembles a dose of Exlax as the traffic is released! Rant over. Rob S

  • MINI Cooper S - New Mini Cooper SD (2014) 20 Dec 2014 (Forum)
I had always said I'd never have a Mini, but when the missus was upgrading hers I test drove both the new Cooper S and Cooper SD in that order, the Cooper S was fun and made all the nice popping noises however, I disliked how you had to drive it at high revs to enjoy the car, when I test drove the SD I regretted losing the sound of the exhaust but the performace absolutely made me fall for this car over the S.
  • BMW 1 Series 2019 - Why doesn't my subwoofer have much woof?!! 6 Apr 2024 (Forum)
Is there something about the way I have wired it that is reducing performance, or do I need to buy a better one?   Any thoughts welcome. Thanks https://thumbsnap.com/s/YTegs9xw.jpg[ https://thumbsnap.com/s/f6vnx6GF.jpg https://thumbsnap.com/s/K3BhREJS.jpg https://thumbsnap.com/s/Rwh7tb2c.jpg
  • Ego Integrity V Despair - car styling 1 Apr 2010 (Forum)
I`d been reflecting on whether `oblivion` would somehow have those bug like tiny rear windows too. You know, so that you could peer out the back and watch hell tip it`s con tents into heaven because the designers of  modern motors were in there and had persuaded the devil to slope the window lines into a gaping ugly grill that spewed out it`s contents. It`s OK to shrug off the despair though - cos afterall these are only motors.
  • Jaguar S-Type 2.7D (04/54) or MB S320CDI (Y/51/02) 22 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I am undecided between the following two cars 1) Y/51/02-reg Mercedes S320 CDI 2) 04/54-reg Jaguar S-Type 2.7D SE auto E320 CDI I believe is still upward of £12,000 even for a 52-reg car. Also, I heard that these early E-Class have fairly troublesome electronics. I am aiming to spend around £10,000 and admit both will have over 100,000 miles.
  • MINI Cooper S R53 (2002 - 2007) - Convertable - I am just about to buy one... 7 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Can anyone help me work out the best way to pay for a new Mini Cooper S convertible and how new compares to buying second hand? Dealers PCP? Personal Loan? Leasing? I'm trying to figure out the bottom line cost so I can make a valued decision. A car is going to cost me money so I have been trying to put together a spreadsheet to work out what each option will cost when taking into account all the different variables, interest, depreciation, deposit etc.
