Inertia cut-off switch - rover 100 5 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Does anybody know how I'd reset the fuel cut-off switch after a sudden stop, please? I know where the switch is (under the bonnet, between the battery and the ECU), it seems to have a rubber cover over it. Do I need to prise this cover off or will this damage it? Thanks. -
Pug 306 10 Mar 2003 (Forum)
In his car by car breakdown HJ say of the above: "1.8 8-valve XU petrol is the worst engine and many were fitted with the wrong ECU chip leading to failed emissions tests. Autobox not recommended." Does anybody know why the autobox meets with his disfavour? Academic interest only, I would never buy one as me feets too big. -

Peugeot 307 CC (2003 - 2008) - 06 1.6 turbo boosting 7 Oct 2008 (Forum)
With a 1.6Hdi 110hp, if the turbo pressure was boosted by altering the actuator push rod. Would the ECU system see the extra boost and increase the fueling, increasing the power. As you could do on the mechanical pumps and turbos of such as the 306 Pugs and ZX Citroens. Curious as the question was asked by a friend. -
Peugeot 206 1 Jul 2006 (Forum)
The owner said he had hit it where the airbag sensor was and deactivated the airbag, so the car wouldn't start and he had to get the ECU (sp?) reset by Peugeot. Would welcome any info on this. Thanks -

306 1.6 22 Nov 2004 (Forum)
I know that it only has the 90bhp engine, but I wondered whether anyone knew what the revisions were to make it to a 100bhp and more economical (5mpg) in 2000? If it is just a new ECU, then I thought I could upgrade it...any thoughts? -
espace with no power to fuel pump 23 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Mechanic has confirmed it runs if power is run directly to the fuel pump, but otherwise pump receives no power. He suggested ECU controls fuel pump so that's been computer checked and is OK. He thinks there is a relay somewhere but cannot locate it. Can anyone help please? -

Audi A3 + S3 (2003 - 2008) - 04 2.0 FSI Cruise Control Problem 28 Dec 2008 (Forum)
And are these codes any good for troubleshooting ? 4) I've manage to gather that the 'Steering Column ECU' (mentioned above) interfaces with the Engine ECU. Is this through a dedicated electrical connection or via a digital bus ? Could it be the Engine ECU at fault ? 5) If it is an earthing fault, does the earth for the cruise control share it with any-other service - for example on some old cars the indicators would share an earth with the headlights and if the earth was poor it would cause the headlights to alternate in brightness in sympathy with the indicators. -
Zafira and faulty petrol 31 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Do I need to go to the main dealer? Will Morrisons foot the bill for all these problems and a new ECU unit if needed? Anyone got any experience of these problems that shows it was or wasn't the ECU? Incidentally, once the car is running warm it does seem to be running not too badly apart from the drinking of petrol and the emissions light on. -
Problems with Peugeot406 Eng Mgmt System 21 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Once the engine has warmed up, then tt is fine. If the outside temp is around 4/5 degrees C, then even this doesnt happen. The ECU itself is a Bosch EDC15C2, and I have the print out from analyser from the last time it was looked at. It says: "Intermittent fault. Accelerator pedal signal 2. Signal short circuited to earth." Seems to me that there's either a specific wiring fault that can be corrected without changing the whole loom, or the ECU itself is toast and needs changing. -

I don't intend to let curiosity get the better of me, and remove the insert, until I know what is on the other side. ECUs tend to be expensive! Many thanks, Steve
