• how to wind back calipers - 199 Audi A4 22 Jun 2006 (Forum)
  Hi Everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me out, I'm in the missle of fitting new brake pads to the rear of a 99 audi A4. Im having real problems getting the caliper pistion to go back in. It seems to be stuck (I'm pretty sure its not seized as the piston will move back out from the pedal). It seems like Im missing something to make it retract.

  Hi all, I can't turn off the Econ button on my audi A4 climate control. I remember having probs with it when I bought it last year.....didn't read the handbook but eventually got it switched off and got the air con to work. With the Econ button on the air isn't cold enough...Is this an indication that it needs re-gassing or some other fault ?

  I recently bought a new A4 Avant and discovered the climate control was not working correctly. My Audi garage took a look, confirmed the fault and ordered new parts. I'm still waiting and it's been about a month so far. It seems that a large proportion of all new A4s are similarly effected (6 out of 10 from my dealer).

  Does anyone know a foolproof way of identifying faulty hydraulic tappets on 5 cylinder Audi engines? My Coupe has had a 'lazy' tappet for some time now - it can take a couple of minutes to quieten down after a cold start. I'm planning to lift the cam cover some time soon to check the timing chain (it's the twin cam 20 valve engine).
