  Bloke shimmies over looking shifty afterwards, conversation goes like this. Bloke: You got uneven tyre wear there mate. You want us to check the balance and alignment? Me: Well....how much? Bloke: 35 quid the balance, 62 the alignment. Plus VAT. Me: But I had it aligned in the summer when I had the suspension sorted. Bloke: Yes, well, you have to check it three times a year.

  I am going to get four wheel alignment done as toe in adjustment has not solved the problem of drifting over to the left.  I'm fairly sure everything is good at the front end as it's  recently passed its MOT. What I want to know is as a matter of interest and which puzzles me, is how do they adjust the rear wheels?

  Sorry to anyone I have asked before but does anyone know of a good 4 wheel alignment specialist in the North East? I have searched the web but can only find a few places down south. From looking on the web I believe that the Hunter machines are the best so if anyone knows someone who has one of these all the better.

  I am considering having the wheel Alignment done / Tracking - I need to replace the Drivers side front tyre soon due to wear (not uneven) as lower than the passenger front side..... But as a rule I always change in pairs anyway. Is it best to have it done with the old tyres still in place then have new ones fitted or have new tyres fitted then have the tracking done ??

  I'm really not sure what could be causing the problem. The alignment guys told me that if the chassis was bent, that would have clearly shown on the alignment check - but they couldn't see any problems. Any insight greatly appreciated.

  I went to my local tyre bay today to get 2 new front tyres and a puncture repair on the rear. The front tyres were wearing on the outside edges so I already knew I wanted the alignment checked and adjusted. I was surprised that they checked and adjusted the wheel alignment before changing the tyres… Is this common practice these days depending on the equipment they use? I thought that new tyres would alter the geometry of the wheels and then you’d adjust it correctly afterwards.

  My Merc A Class Sport W176 has a slight pull to the left. It seems to be worse after I got my front spring replaced. Do I require a 2 or 4 wheel alignment? Didn't want to pay for a 4 wheel unnecessary if the back wheels cant be adjusted.

    There is no evidence of uneven wear or signs when steering. Is it worthwhile to get 4 wheel alignment ?  Will it improve mpg ?  With a ten year old car could it damage anything involved with the wheels ? Sorry it's a stupid question but I don't know much about technical side.

  hi all, anyone care to recomend somewhere it the manchester/cheshire area that could do a alignment of my volvo v70 and adjust the rear/front tracking, ive had it done a couple of times at the local fast fit centre and they have made a right cock up of the job, steering wheel off centre car pulling etc i need to find someone who actually knows what there doing, cheers

  hi all, i know the great leader recomends this company highly for competive deals, has anyone used them for alignment problems? i have heard there very good in this area also,can anyone confirm this, as i have a long term alignment problem i need to sort out, as im in the winchester area next week i was thinking of calling in and getting my front tyres replaced and the alignment hopefully sorted, thanks.

  Only a week or two ago I had two new front tyres on the front and a specialist wheel tracking done. The steering wheel alignment has not altered and there feels no difference in driving. Should I get the tracking done again. I tend to feel that if the tracking had been altered the steering wheel would be misaligned. Any Views.....

  2003 Renault Clio Dynamique 1.5 dci80. Am I really the only Clio owner with rear wheel alignment problems? R/N/S tyre worn indicating a problem and vehicle subsequently checked confirming the fault. The vehicle has not been damaged, kerbed, potholed or abused in any other manner. Problem really manifested itself during the recent snow/ice conditions - very exciting to drive!!!

  I got onto BMW to see if there was a common problem and they said no and I should have something called a KDS test (Optical Alignment test where they put a camera on each wheel). Now the charge for this is a p1*$ taking £140. I asked whether my local tyre chap could do it and they said that your ****-*** would probably not, but I have a good company round the corner (Munster Tyres) whose wheel alignment machine (he says cost) £9.5k and he charges a not inconsiderable £35.
