  • Audi Q7 (2006 - ) - Looking to buy an SUV - is anyone else? 17 Sep 2009 (Forum)
He admitted this state of affairs was confusing XC90 - outside contender Havent spoken to a dealer but all recent S/H stock is way more expensive than I can buy new from a broker. Also all stock is band G whilst a new model from the broker has the new band F engine From valvo website GFV at 3 years is 33% of list which is poor, although possibly par for the course Cayenne - not a chance :) Stunning bargains to be had, but I just dont want one So who else is looking?

  • Rover 400 (1995 - 1999) - Insurance Write-Off - Payout Dispute 26 Apr 2009 (Forum)
The problem is we can't find another one the same anywhere, let alone locally. In the local area, there are only half a dozen Rover 400's of the same age and type - but not of the same spec or mileage. Insurance have offered £1475 for the car (already having raised that from £1100) and claim that is top book price, but I can't see how it can be replaced like for like (or equivalent) for that money.

  • The hypocrisy in road pricing 5 Dec 2006 (Forum)
I was fuming this morning whilst in the car listening to a debate on Radio Five Live speculating on the contents of Rod Eddington?s report on road pricing, I did not catch all of the show however the presenter, Mathew Bannister, did not help my blood pressure, he tended to defend the principals of road pricing when almost all phone-in callers were against it hence not presenting the neutral stance one expects from the BBC.
  • Blasts from the past 13 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Shame it also wasn't one of the most reliable! *THE opportunist F1 overtaking manoeuvre of all time. Page 143 - XJ-S V12 Convertible road test. After describing the model facelift changes: "Indeed, a recent court case revealed some XJ-S faking, early cars being refitted with recent bumpers and trim and resold as much newer vehicles."
  • Rot In Peace, Peykan 26 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Just learnt from BBC TV that the Iran Khodro Company has stopped production of the infamous Peykan, based on the 1960's Hillman Hunter 1725cc and Iran's "people's car" for almost 40 years. Tehran's city sprawl has long been a sea of orange Peykan taxis driven by maniacs, much like the battered Fiat 124's of Cairo.

I collected my wife?s C-Class Avantgarde SE estate last Friday, and we have spent a few days with the car. It is our first M-B, and here are our first impressions: DEALER -Very professional vehicle handover-no rushing. 10/10 -Vehicle preparation very good-but see below. 8/10 -Dealer workshop very grubby; worse than Ford dealers. 3/10 CAR-FIRST DRIVE -That new car smell!!
