BMW125D - A couple of discussion topics 12 Nov 2020 (Forum)
You push the lever forward to go forward and backwards to go backwards which seems common sense. I have driven a couple of automatic cars many years ago and recently bought the vehicle above. I push the selector forward to go backwards and backwards to go forwards which is crazy to me. I guess it is a carry over from automatics that had mechanical linkages but are they not different now? -

Windows Live Mail (WLM) 9 Nov 2014 (Forum)
On selecting WLM on the desktop, the WLM screen appears and so does a log-in screen stating "Sign in to Windows Live Mail", also automatically included is my e-mail address and a password box. Without entering a password, I can close the log-in box and go straight into WLM and begin e-mailing. This must be wrong. Can anyone guide me as to how I can remove my automatically entered e-mail address and ensure that I must enter my password to provide the necessary security. -

vauxhall insignia - electric hand brake , whats the problem! 6 Feb 2013 (Forum)
I was a bit concerned when i went for a test drive before i bought the car as im an enthusiastic driver but now i think its great, i pull the leaver and it comes on i then just select a gear and pull away and it disengages automatically, i can even stop on a hill without even doing any thing as it applies automatically perhaps im getting lazy with old age! i havent come across any down sides apart from i suppose it will cost more to fix 10 years down the line but the same apples to electric windows, and when you have 2 cars and one has it and one doesnt you have to remember to go back to the old trusted method! -

Audi 80 lumpy idling 19 Feb 2002 (Forum)
My 1986 Audi 80 1.6 petrol (Pierburg 2E2 carburettor with automatic choke)is running well when the engine is under load (i.e. it goes well when you have your foot on the accelerator), and runs well when it is cold (the automatic choke keeps the revs high). When the engine has warmed up, it still runs well under load, but when it is idling it is very lumpy and occasionally stalls. -
A laugh, a song, and a Citroen BX 8 Jan 2002 (Forum)
I think the automatic choke is sticking on, as after a happy start, as the engine gets warmer, it loses power until it stalls altogether. Initially it drove well (on the test drive, and on Friday) so it's an intermittent fault.
