• Ford Fiesta (2000 - 2002) - 01 1.3 EM code problem 16 Jul 2010 (Forum)
  A few months back my engine management light came back on 'again' the only symptom was stalling at start of drive when revs are low. It has passed its MOT today and came back with an error code P1633 voltage low... It's a 2001 Fiesta 1.3. Has anybody got a clue what this could be and how to fix it?   Sometimes I hear a single knocking noise when I turn a corner or go over a bump. The left wheel also has a lot of heat coming off it when driving. Can anyone shed some light on what is causing this and how to fix it.

  Well the wife took the car out for a drive after passing her test and the upshot was that we found out that the near side suspension spring snapped, luckily near the bottom.  Car still drivable (got it back home to Stafford) but now got to get it sorted.

  Following my other half success at passing her driving test i am looking for a cheap first car. i have seen a  Seat arosa that looks tempting, bUt could it be trouble in the form of expensive repairs. ? it is S Reg  1.0  litre engine  88 K  miles ,   any opiinion welcome  thank you all

  the problem is when you either go to pull away or when your driving there is no power like petrol starved then if you keep the gas on suddenly it will start to pick up, really dangerous at junctions it just wont go, get it on the motorway and it will gradually get up to full speed but you can feel it judder every so often, ive changed the petrol filter, air filter, plugs,..... any ideas ta dave.

  When driving the car at normal road speeds, very occasionally I get a slight reduction in power and the speedometer drops to zero, this lasts for anywhere between 5 and 20 seconds, then full power returns and the speedo registers again, I would be very grateful if any body could indicate what causes this problem.

  Here are my restrictions: diesel under 20,000 miles under 16k new under 10k now not a Renault!?! 2.0 or under I don't do that many miles so not too bothered about MPG. I'm currently driving a seat Ibiza FR tdi.

  The central locking works fine with both the key fob and using the key in the door however when driving along the car locks and unlocks itself? when the doors are locked they all unlock when you open one from the inside. I have read many posts on here with some of the doors locks working this seems to be caused by a faulty lock could this be the problem?

  I have only been driving since September and when I first got the car I was stalling at least once a day for the first week and then maybe once a week for the next month, but have not stalled it since, until today when pulling out into a main road.

  Hi my fiestas been making a clunking sound, everytime the passenger front wheel drives over something eg speed bump, pot hole. The problem is that the weight/bolt (under the bonnet) is not tight enough and theres a gap! I havent a clue whats it called please help! {header given a less vague title

  Listening to one of my new Beatles CDs in the car on the way home started me thinking about motoring lyrics and motoring song titles. Taxman, by the Fab Four, still rings true today: If you drive a car, I'll tax the street, If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat, If you get too cold, I'll tax the heat, If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet. Any other motoring lyrics/song titles spring to mind?

  Hi guys, I drive an '01 Picasso 1.6 petrol and LOVE the spacious interior. Sick of fuel prices and sick of road tax prices. I like the 62mpg of the diesel Nemo, it also cost 35 quid a year to tax it, also it seems to be another spacious beast.

  Hi can anyone recomend a set of tyres for the trajet i have had Kumo's and pirrellis on but both have worn out within 7000 miles and 2years of local driving. The car is a heavy car on the front and i have just read that both boots i have had are soft compond. I have thought about the firestone f700 215/65/15 96 H Thanks P

  I am no expert, but it sounds like either steering pump/alternator/belt tensioner as they are all off the same engine drive. Is the main money on the tensioner, is there an easy way to find out? Thanks

  Cycling to Reading station this morning I stopped at some traffic lights at a crossroads as usual and waited for the sequence to come round to my direction. But it didn't - it missed me out, so I had to wait another couple of minutes in the driving rain. Yuk. As there were no cars with me at the lights initially, I can only assume that the lights depend to an extent on sensors, which aren't triggered by the presence of a bike. Haven't they been calibrated correctly, or aren't they ever going to be that sensitive?

  hi there, i have just bought a 97 dispatch 1.9 diesel, when driving i found there is no power, it does bout 50mph flat out and takes about a week to get there, its dangerousley under powered as i found out at a junction, are all the non turbo versions like this or is it just this one, any ideas or if any 1 has had similar problem, any help would be greatley appreciated

  i have also removed the barrel and tried using a screwdriver to start car but will still only turn on electrics but not turnover car to start. any ideas/advice really appreciated as both of ours cars are now sat on the drive broken

  OK, this may sound insignificant, but both my daughters have learnt to drive recently and both insist that, when applying the handbrake, you should push in the release button at the end so it pulls up silently (This is what their instructor has told them) My wife and I both pull on the handbrake without doing this so you can hear the sound of the ratchet (this causes unnecessary wear apparently) What is the right way to do it?

  My Honda FR-V clutch is already slipping with the car having done less than 50,000 miles. I always ensure that I do not ride the clutch so I definitely cannot put that down to bad driving habits. I highly rated Honda but this is such a disappointment. Has anyone else had the same problem?
