  Rare 1969 Jensen FF in Historics 23rd November auction 17 Nov 2019 (News)
  Designed by Marcello Gandini, this fabulous example, in classic red with black interior, was supplied new in Frankfurt, Germany in September, 1974 and only recently made its way to the UK. The previous owner spent £25,000 since 2015 on refurbishments including a full engine and fuel injection system rebuild by marque specialists, a rebuilt rear axle and much more. All detailed in a comprehensive history file and the car come complete with its ‘Classiche’ paperwork.  It is estimated at £50,000 to £60,000.

Running costs were cited as the top priority, followed by purchase price, fuel/energy consumption and driving experience. Having the ability to charge at home was cited as the most important need by over half (53 per cent) of consumers when considering whether to purchase an electric vehicle.

  It’s happier at speed where the fact it’s a twin clutch gearbox means the shifts are lightning fast, so there’s no drop off in performance. Fuel economy suffers slightly if you go for the DSG but it’s just as quick from 0-62mph as the manual version. True, it’s not as fun as the other vRS models, but it makes so much sense, it's easy to see why it proved so popular.

For a small estate, this Fabia handles surprisingly well, balancing agility in corners and responsive steering with a comfortable ride.

  Last year’s second place team of Trina Harley and Sue Shoosmith in the Bentley pulled out after the back axle broke, a problem also incurred by the blue Delahaye of Dirk and Nick Van Praag from Belgium. The red Jaguar SS100 of Shane Houlihan and Michael Jackson suffered a fuel leak, which lead to the engine catching fire, shooting flames through the louvres in the top of the bonnet. Fortunately the crew was able to use their fire-extinguisher in time to prevent serious damage, and the car continued with blistered paintwork.
