  • fiesta fuel filler rust 17 Sep 2011 (Forum)
I'm looking to buy a MK3 fiesta. I've seen one that checks out, except for the rust around the fuel filler, which I know is a common problem on these cars. What options are there for repairing for this. I have read that a new panel is required, but can't help thinking that for such a common problem on a very popular car someone ought to have come up with a simpler solution.

tried to change the fuel filter on my 1997 vw passat tdi 90. Removed the pipes from the top and the two small screws from another. • Volkswagen Passat (2001 - 2005) - 04 1.9 fuel leak 24 Apr 2009 (Forum)
This problem only occurs when the tank is filled up and not when it is partially filled. I have had the seal on the fuel pump replaced but it hasn't resolved the problem.
  • Tesco fuel thread. 1 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Point made - that's why its locked now. People can't seem to grasp simple concepts as to what happened - from the way I read it it was fuel being delivered on people's credit card (paying at pump) so cash payers weren't affected - chunks of this thread will be removed shortly and the thread re-instated. Thanks jbif for your unofficial moderation but we can manage - honest.
  • Citroen - Dispatch (2006) 110hp - changing fuel filter 3 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Serviced my 2006 Citroen Dispatch yesterday, only problem being the fuel filter. Any advice on changing it? Is the pump self bleeding or is there a hand pump? The model is the 110 hp version, the new filter is a paper canister type meaning the filter casing needs split.
  • Volkswagen Passat (2001 - 2005) - 03 Fuel Filter (PDi engine) 2 Jan 2008 (Forum)
I was just wondering how important it is to change the fuel filter during the 60k service on my 03 passat pdi? If it needs to be changed then is there a big difference between a VW part or one I can pick up for half the price from a motor factor? Thanks in advance, R
  • More older BMW petrol leaks info 29 May 2007 (Forum)
Just found (by smell) another petrol leak on my 1996 320i. On inspecting the hoses on the top of the fuel pump housing, I found 1 inch depth of petrol around and on top of the head of the fuel pump. The manufactures original joint was leaking on the larger of the two hoses. I think this hose links the 2 parts of the fuel tank together.
  • small diesels - actual fuel consumption 3 May 2006 (Forum)
Not wanting to take manufacturers figures at face value, I was was wondering what actual fuel consumption the new small 1.3/1.4/1.5 diesels are returning, also under what driving conditions. I'm thinking of Yaris, C2, Micra, Clio, etc, etc. (I note some comments re. Clio in the forum at the moment.)

  • US Fuel Prices 5 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Fuel cost graph on tonights channel 4 news showed a price of $1.75 a gallon on the day before the huricane had now risen to oapprox $2.50, still cheap by UK standards. Bought diesel today at 97.9p/litre, i reckon within 2 weeks it'll be over £1.00 which is an incredulous amount when not more than 6 months ago it was around 81p

  • Saab 900 Fuel Pump - Part No. 30 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Does anybody know the Bosch part number for the fuel pump for a 1988 Saab 900i 8valve? Mine is on it's last legs and I need to replace it. Thought I'd try here first rather than go to the hassle of removing the old pump, getting the part number, refitting the old pump and then doing the same again for the new one.

  • Clio 1.2 RL No fuel or Spark 29 Sep 2016 (Forum)
Recently after charging the battery and washing the engine bay (why???) it failed to start. I squirted WD40 liberally about (near map sensor) and the fuel pump relay started to fizz & click and it started. Happy with my achievments I left it assuming all was well. Now it wont start at all. No fuel or spark. The fuel pump runs if I bridge the relay but I still can't get it to fire.
  • vectra 2002 1.8 16v ecotec - car cut out whilst driving, wont start, no crank 6 Feb 2016 (Forum)
Car cut out whilst driving and now will not start. Turn the key - nothing. Dash lights come on as they should, no change in the fuel guage. Fuel pump doesnt make any noise. Can here a click from the relay in the boot fuse box and clicking from the front end, not sure if it the fuse box or ecu i can hear. Other than that I get absolutely nothing.
