Subaru price please? 1 Jul 2005 (Forum)
So what's a fair price for these.... 2001 on a 51 plate Legacy 2.0 GL saloon, red mica, just under 25K miles, air con and the usual toys, from a main dealer so presumably FSSH, up for £7995 which seems a bit rich to me, presumably the low mileage is why. Also what is the likely p/x on my 2001 W plate Legacy GL saloon, solid blue, a leggy 105k, dealer history to 55k then me with Subaru filters etc, recent cambelt fitted by dealer, no aircon, good P6000's, tidy looker but usual scratches, chips etc? -
Please help - I know nothing! 20 Mar 2005 (Forum)
The wife needs a new car, just for going around town really - and we are looking at buying a Toyota Corolla, as we have been told it is very reliable, and quite cheap to run. We have looked at a 5dr, 2000 X , 1.4 VVTi Corolla, in silver. It has Air Con, Electric windows, Power steering, ABS CD etc. It also has a full service history and has done 25,000 miles. It's beeing sold by a trader, and he will supposedly accept £3650 as his lowest offer. -

Complacency over safety 23 Feb 2004 (Forum)
I for one, will have a serious rethink about the cars I drive and how important is it to have electric windows, air con etc, as opposed to having a car that I can climb out of after an accident. -
1997 Espace 2.2 Turbodiesel. 1 Sep 2003 (Forum)
Well at 60,000 I have decided to bite the bullet and carry out some preventative maintenance and change the bearings, fit a new clutch (which |I think is the cause as it is dreadfully heavy all of a sudden) change the timing belt (second time), water pump etc. Some other jobs need doing like the air-con radiator fans and dryer, a face level vent, door rubber and some other trim bits. Howerver there is no Haynes manual for it, Chilton dont list it. I have no problem in tackling the job without one but as you may appreciate with the correct info it could be done quicker with a WSM. -
If not Laguna, then what?? 30 Apr 2003 (Forum)

old jag heater fans 31 May 2001 (Forum)
87 sovereign with air con. The heater fan switch has 3 positions, HIGH MED LOW (and OFF of course) On mine the fan used to be perfect on the LOW position and was too noisy on MED and HIGH. Thus I never use the "auto" position. -
Peugot 306 1.9TD Oil Leak 9 May 2001 (Forum)
A previous thread discussed the difficulties of acess to fit cam belts. What about a simple cluch cable? Air con. pipes right across the bulkhead access point. The French do have a sense of humour don't they? I lost mine fitting the cable!! -
Spanner-How to survive your local garage 6 Oct 2002 (Forum)
There is no pumping out of the gas, or mixing of gas with warm air. The system is sealed, and gas isn't 'used'. When servicing a system, no 'airlock' is generated, I believe you mean a vacuum is generated. If air is mixed with the refrigerant, as you imply, then the system will not perform properly as air is a non-condensable gas. -
Renault Clio - Who is correct 5 Feb 2024 (Forum)
So i told them that ATS told me that i needed the near side Spring and Wishbone replaced for the MOT, The lady in the reception got the engineer and he told me that everything is in Good order for its MOT, So i will get the MOT done first without having the Spring and Wishbone replaced for the MOT but i will tell the garage to have parts on hand if it fails the MOT and it can be done on the same day since its in getting a full service after the MOT but who ever is wrong , I will be complaining to them. On another note, After the Air Con Re charge, I was told that it wasn't cool enough and if it remains that way, Then i have to take it back again within 3 weeks and then will make alterations to adjust the Air temp. But least its now working since it stopped working at the end of summer. -
Renault Megane 07 reg - Selling advice needed 5 May 2017 (Forum)
If the cosmetics were OK I'd sell it for around 1,500 - 2000 but I have no idea how much it's likely to cost to fix up. The only other option is to have air con put in the car but I expect that'll cost more than the car itself! Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -

fiat/skoda/totota - second learner car - choice 21 Jun 2016 (Forum)
Can I ask the room - we need a small second car for family and for 17yo kids to learn on - so low insuarance is a must I have got it down to three-ish Fiat panda 1.2 09 48k £1700 (£30pa tax) fsh etc or an 06 88k for £585 Skoda fabia 1.2 05 66K £950 fsh air con but £145 tax good condition Toyota Yaris - loads 04 onwards £1400ish with FSH very reliable but higher group 5 insurance. I'm inclined to go for Fiat panda as fun easy to learn on, but fear reliability problems - although owners all seem to love them. -
ford focus tdci 1.8 2006 - very strange engine problem 7 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Engine runs sweet until you reach optimum temp then it starts to play up for e.g Stop the car, put it in neutral and soon as you lift the clutch it starts to sound and feel like its misfiring, it sounds like half the engine has stopped and the engine is jumping and shaking.but the weird thing is that if you just simply push the clutch back down then the engine runs sweet again-or if you dont push the clutch down you can turn the air con on and that makes it run ok aswel. Ive had mechanics and specialist both scratching there heads at this diagnostics shows nothing Ive had clutch and flywheel replaced along with a full service but still nothing Also probably about once every 2 weeks it turns over but doesnt start, then you have to jump it,not sure if its connected but thrown it in there anyway Any suggestions would be great! -

Peugeot 206 SW - Auxiliary Belt Screeching 2.0 HDI 10 Nov 2013 (Forum)
I don't really have the time to have the car in the garage for another day so I'm hoping I can sort it myself. Its a 2004 2.0 HDI with air con and their are 6 pulleys in total, 3 large, 3 smaller. Last time I adjusted a belt it was a simple case of loosening the alternator and tensioning the belt. This is like spagetti with loads of pulleys :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/62249235@N05/10760614784/ Is there any way of tightening the belt? -
Vauxhall Corsa D (2006 - ) - 07 1.7 misty/frozen windscreen inside 5 Aug 2011 (Forum)
In actual fact it freezes in the cold weather at times. As there is no fast clear option in my car it takes ages to clear with the heater/air con combination as recommended by Vauxhall manuals. I can clear the whole car of ice/snow etc by hand and still be waiting to see outside the windscreen. I have not used any sprays etc to clean the inside of the windscreen since I got the car but as it was bought used I can't guarantee much more. -
If you have a technical question.... 31 Jul 2010 (Forum)
I am lucky to see 300 miles from what my gauge says a full tank. I am conscious of making sure the air con does remains off, and to ensure the boot is empty. I feel that I am a fairly decent driver so I am frustrated at the cars performance. -
Ford Mondeo IV - Low battery 27 Mar 2010 (Forum)
was sat in my year old Mondeo, in a car park the other day, waiting for my wife. The key was in the ignition, but was turned all the way to the left - so there was no radio, air con etc on. Suddenly I noticed a "low battery" warning flash up on the dashboard. Afraid that it might be about to run flat, I started the engine and just let it run for about 10 minutes and then I didn't notice the warning again. -
Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 1.4 16v Dynamique buying advice 2 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Its done 102,000 miles its a 51 reg and they are asking £1995. One of the front fog lights is broken and the air con is not blowing very cold so these would need to be fixed before she got the car. They also said they would give it a service before they handed over the car. I gather that it should have had at least two cam belt changes done so far is this correct??.
