Corolla rattle from rear 30 May 2007 (Forum)
We have a Corolla T3 5 door (53 Plate) in the family that has developed a loud rattle from the rear/tailgate area. It occurs when driving over uneven roads - which is all of them where I live. I have checked for anything obvious or loose and cannot locate anything. It is a metal or hard plastic rattle. Any advice or ideas as to what it could be will be gratefully received. -
A question about sockets 28 May 2007 (Forum)
bits that see occasional use but when I come accross a fixing that requires a socket, not a bit, I use an ordinary 3/8ths drive socket. This has worked fine so far, but am I going to come unstuck at some point, perhaps when the fixing is really tight? -

Low car ramps 17 May 2007 (Forum)
I've just seen some low car ramps on Wikihow: http://www.wikihow.com/Change-the-Oil-in-Your-Car These must be ideal for jobs when you just need to get the car a few inches off the ground to do things like oil changes. Does anyone know where you can buy these ? I personally don't enjoy driving up big steel ramps. -

Alfa Customer Service 24 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Ive read a couple of places that Alfa Romeo have dumped more than half their dealers in a customer service drive and also made moves to attempt to improve their own customer service - is/has this happening/happened yet? If so, anyone with an Alfa noticed a difference yet? It certainly sounds like Alfa is taking customer service seriously which is great news esp if they want to take on the germans in a big way. -
Cars in Motorway Crosswinds ?? 21 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Cars in Motorway Crosswinds handle better than others - Why?? My wifes car 'Pug HDI' is a beast driving on a motorway in a crosswind, but my ZX TD, I use for travelling to work has no problems at 70mph. I drove a Pug 307 HDI and a Skoda Octavia TD a few days ago and both of those are bad too. Which car would you say is good in a crosswind travelling at 70mph?? -
Fiesta really juddery when cold 20 Mar 2007 (Forum)
For the first couple of miles its very juddery almost like its running on 3 cylinders but its not. After 1-2 miles it drives fine. Does anybody know how I can stop this from happening? I am worried the car will loose power completly. Its a 1.1 Valencia with single point fuel injection last serviced 400 miles ago. -
Emergency Info for car 6 Mar 2007 (Forum)

So far I have Reg number, make and model, ins company, Phone numbers for ins company, accident recovery, breakdown, windscreen Anything else I should include? Some mobile and work numbers? -
Honda Jazz CVT - opinions? 15 Feb 2007 (Forum)
My local dealer hasn't got one in stock for me to try so before I go to the trouble of travelling further afield, I'd appreciate comments from anyone with experience of these cars. I like the higher driving position and relatively easy access plus the apparent Honda reliability. Thanks. -
Golf TDI Chipping 13 Feb 2007 (Forum)
These 1.9 TDI engines have come in many disguises ranging from 90 to 150 BHP so how did VW achieve these different power outputs. Don't want to go mad with the power but the exra Tq would make the car a better drive and the MPG might improve. -
Mondeo diesel running roughly 30 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I suspected a slight blockage in the injection - so have put detergents in and given it an Italian tune up (ie revved it lots in driving). No joy - if anything the knocking , and occasional belching of smoke from exhaust have increased. Any ideas or tips? -
Shipping a gearbox 6 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Its not any great value (£100 or so - I just want it for parts) - I've been staggered at how much couriers want to charge (£80+) and on a pallet its something like £75+VAT. Anyone got any ideas on how I could cheaply ship this gearbox, short of driving up there and getting it myself... -
clunky gearbox on scenic 11 Dec 2006 (Forum)
(I thought I posted this yesterday but I obviously pressed the wrong button) have just put a deposit down on a 3 year old scenic 1.9 dci with a renault main dealer. On the test drive the gearbox clunked from first to second (not from 3rd to 2nd) does anyone know if this is common with the renault or should I be worrying. They give a warranty, but I don't really want to have to go down that route... -
Misting windows 3 Dec 2006 (Forum)
I've done what my manual says - "turn the blower on and aim air down the sides" This is and old Passat estate - no air con, no blowers down the back The manual doesn't say what temp to blow at and I can't experiment too much while driving as I can't see - esp out the rear side windows any advice gratefully received -

Jack Frost's Out - Idiots About! 6 Nov 2006 (Forum)
1st sign of frost and the idiots are out! You know the ones; only the drivers side of the screen cleared, or driving with uncleared screen whilst waiting for demist to warm up, or scraping a postage stamp sized hole in the ice so you get the same view as a....well.....as an Audi TT driver! Saw them all this morning on way to work. -
Ford Orion 1.4 L Reg - Stuck in 5th Gear 4 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Hi, Driving down the road in 5th gear, happy as larry, we came to a roundabout. Tried to change down gear, but nothing happened. It's jammed in 5th gear and won't budge :( The gear lever itself is sat over to the left as if it's in 1st.... does this point to the linkage being at fault or is the gearbox kaputt?
