VW Polo transmission oil 13 Mar 2003 (Forum)
d) I've searched the web for details but can't find any info. e) The only thing I have been able to find out is that the oil type 'may' have changed from the year 2000 and is 'probably' not the same as earlier models. Any help would be appreciated. -
BMW 320 Diesel - Automatic transmission fluid change in 320? 8 Dec 2014 (Forum)
Just wondering if the automatic transmission oil should be changed occasionally in this car or is it really a 'lifetime job'. There is no mention of it in the service booklet. The car is a 2006 with 200,000Klms. -

Why is my car leaking oil when it’s sitting for a 25 Oct 2019 (Forum)
Could be form the valve cover on the cylinder head, that would be one of the easier jobs, or it could be a crankshaft seal - not so easy. I certainly wouldn't drive it with a low oil level and it sounds as though it needs a change anyway. -
Optimum size of oil filter? 8 Aug 2017 (Forum)
I have just changed the oil in our Focus (some regulars might do a doubletake here;-) The replacement filter (Halfords, £4) is half the size of the old one. Have all previous filters been unnecessarily large and expensive? -
Focus Tdci 1.6 Oil filter location 14 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Sorry if this has been dealt with before. Can anyone tell me where the oil filter is located ? I've changed filters on cars for years but this one has me stumped. I can't see it looking down on to the engine, and I've removed the plastic undershield and looked up but still no joy. -
OIL ACEA Specs 29 Aug 2002 (Forum)
I am taking my Volvo D5 (Diesel) into my local dealer for an oil change. My concern is they use Shell Helix Plus semi-synthetic which has an ACEA spec of B3. In the Volvo user manual Volvo specify ACEA B4 for diesels. Is this crucial and should I take in a couple of cans of Mobil 1 for them to use? -

Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - warranty and servicing ford ka 20 Feb 2009 (Forum)
My daughter has a 08 ka that is coming up to a year old with 4500 miles. According to the ford service schedule the only thing they actually do is change the oil and oil filter. I would like to do this myself and save the service expense this first year. Can I just keep the receipts for oil and oil filter and sign the book myself or would this invalidate the warranty........ -
Ford Focus Oil Filler Cap 18 Nov 2005 (Forum)
After an oil change a couple of months ago, I've noticed that I can't unscrew the oil filler cap on my 2002 Focus 1.8Tddi. It turns and 'clicks' constantly but doesn't come off! I've heard this is common, but it there an easy way of getting it off? -

Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 1999 1.8 petrol - Concern after adding engine oil 15 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Last month I added about 150 ml of Halford Part Synthetic 5W30 engine oil to my Ford Focus. I always have it serviced at a Ford garage and they use Ford Motorcraft engine oil when they change the oil. After topping up with the Halford oil, I noticed when checking the level on the dipstick that the oil seemed to go a fair way up the length of the dipstick and there wasn't a definite level on the dipstick. -
Old Charade 12 Dec 2005 (Forum)
This was my fathers last car and therefore has has a lot of sentimental value. In the last 13 yrs it has only had 2 oil changes, 2 rear exhaust boxes and a couple of sets of tyres - nothing else. It's never failed to start or broken down and always flys through the MOT. The engine still seems quite sweet and doesn't smoke or use any oil in between the 5 year chages!! -
Peugeot 406 auto gear change 28 Nov 2005 (Forum)
I saw Ed China and Mike Brewer cure a dicky Range Rover gearbox by simply doing this. And how often should I be changing gearbox oil? If it?s not a simple fix, I?ll just live with it... Thanks as always, Dave. -
Oil filter leaking? Escort 1.3 1 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Hi Car is an '89 Escort 1.3 HCS (OHV) I've been a bit of a naughty boy recently and haven't checked the oil in my car since it last had an oil/filter change in January. When I checked this morning, guess what? No oil on dipstick. Slightly bemused by this, I filled up with the 1 litre can in the back and started looking for the missing oil.
